when Facebook censored some media outlets and props up others they are directly messing with the market and causing some news outlets to fail while others succeed.
They won't. They are bad people who don't play by the rules. Oh, sorry, allow me to rephrase: they are bad people who only play by their OWN rules. My place my rule, take it or leave it, that's their logic. Their sin is pretending to be a public platform when it has transformed into a publisher, and the transformation dramatically accelerated since Trump won. On top of that, they are a monopoly. They have a division that is assigned to detect and investigate any startups that may have potential and pose a threat to their business, then they will nip them in the bud.
The problem is this has been done a few times and it immediately turns to 100% shitposting, which Is funny and all, but guarantees the platform won’t attract moderate/regular everyday users.
Luckily the platform I’m building gives room for everyone to use the platform and not be bombarded with things they don’t want to see.
The left owns and runs all institutions: media, academics, church, Hollywood, publishing, Fortune 1,000 companies, major cities, music, social platforms, and other things.
When Google censors our messages, independents, slight leaning left, and young adults cannot hear our stories, values, and humor.
The right, b/c we own no institutes, see and hear both left and right messaging.
Yep, the devil owns the world, that's the conclusion you can draw from the temptation of Jesus. He wouldn't get to offer all the kingdoms to our lord and savior if he didn't own them.
The left has everything but one thing; Heritage.
The heritage and traditions of the country is what the left wants to finally destroy to usher communism.without the 1st and 2nd amendment and Proud Americans especially white Americans , the country will be fully communist.
but why are we announcing it? just do it and then interrupt some regularly scheduled rerun to share the news. frankly, i'm more concerned with the silencing and "disappearing" of conservative voices from sm, esp. this close to election day.
It would have been a whole lot easier a decade ago, too. Now Google and the intelligence apparatus have their fingers in everybody's pies, and Google has a ridiculous amount of money.
I can't imagine how hard it will be to find a judge that can't be blackmailed or bought off now.
I hope it includes the Youtube aspect of it. Would like to see Amazon up there, I think their abuse of being a monopoly is more egregious than Youtube.
But Google is a major powerhouse. The biggest, baddest digital advertiser in the game. The number one browser AND search engine AND the number one video platform. They need to be trust busted ages ago. They're so large and corrupt they can impact our republic.
Trust busting was always great and I don't know why they stopped doing it. It was one of the most powerful and useful tools to ensure a healthy free market.
I actually do know why, because globalism and free trade meant that American companies needed to be bigger to compete internationally, meaning that they can't have domestic competition.
The break up of AT&T was a huge deal when it happened, and it had an incredible impact on what eventually would happen. If AT&T wasn't broken up, there would be no Verizon. No Comcast. No Samsung. Apple would never have gotten into cellphones... and we might not have had cellphones for a few decades more! When AT&T was broken up, competition erupted, and the mid 90's was where telecommunications absolutely went wild with advancements and rolling out of tools & technology to feed the growing global demand for communication & the things that make communication work.
AT&T has merged with enough media companies now, that it is large again, but it's not about size...it's about monopolistic control, which is nothing like what they used to have. Back when 'Ma Bell was running things, you had two choices for telphones, beige or black, and that was literally it.
This isn’t a fair description of the history. The breakup of AT&T led to a lot of problems, and probably slowed the adoption of cell phones in the US, not quickened it. The breakup also killed video calling technology until Facetime.
The current AT&T is also a different company from the original AT&T. Verizon is actually more directly related.
I disagree, man. AT&T owned all of the hard-line telephone infrastructure in the US. They had no incentive to push cell technology, and they didn't. You mention video calling...that was more of a "look what we can do!" than a viable tool that could be made available to the public. You seem to agree with me that Verizon is basically AT&T reincarnated, lol.
They'll scream and cry about it, for sure. They'll get the Lefties all riled up telling em, "Trump is coming to censor Google!" All I can hope is that enough people know what's actually going on; and know that breaking up these tech giants will be a good thing universally.
I mean technically maybe he could trigger the San Andreas fault, and right after that is done, send in a category 5 hurricane, and maybe it wipes out enough of the snowflakes that the company can't rebuild.
Exactly. Just about the only way it could actually work is to give a command to delete all of the data and MILSPEC wipe it from the drives. Even that probably will fail because
I almost guarantee no one person has permissions to do that
if they’re even halfway competent, there’s offline backups that can just restore everything back to normal
Only something like “the DOJ has ordered Alphabet to be broken up under anti-trust laws. Their (and Google’s) board will personally report to Guantanamo and have all assets frozen if they do not cooperate” would make them listen
Android Phones
Gmail
Google Search
Google Maps
Google Satellites
Google Docs Suite
Google Drive
Youtube
Google Cloud Storage
Google Calendar
Zoom plugin for Google
Chrome Browser
Google Apps Scripts Suite
Google Data Studio
That's just a list of all the Google shit and services we have to use just for work... and I'm sure I'm missing some l, like their physical infastructure that supports it all.
The amount that gets spent on Google Shopping and Ad Words is NUTS. My old employer had like 11 people being paid near minimum wage but was spending 50k a month on google ads!
I want to believe dammit..... God is supposed to be the 'cloud'... maybe the plague of locusts can be some stealthy computer virus which stays dormant in all the servers and all the backups until it is activated and all the data turns back into dust.
The crack in Goolag's armor is the online advertising, and it looks like that is what the DOJ is targeting.
Alphabet was an obvious antitrust target. Through YouTube, Google search, Google Maps and a suite of online advertising products, consumers interact with the company nearly every time they search for information, watch a video, hail a ride, order delivery in an app or see an ad online.
Not just YouTube. And, it wouldn't mean that AdSense would go away, just that it would be split off into a separate entity. A very wealthy one.
The point is, this would break their tracking abilities. So the nonsense of watching something on YouTube, and going to Amazon and them 'recommending" a related product would end.
Big Ad is throwing a collective tantrum today behind closed doors. I'm hearing it personally.
But, Alphabet sells all kinds of data, so they won't go out of business, and they'll just find other ways to do what they're doing now. But we'll have a moment's respite from the aggressive tracking they do.
Just making them break the advertising bit off would hurt them massively. Almost all of the companies products that move the needle are based around advert rev. Even their browser is just one more way to hover up analytics into the cloud.
Maybe verizon can buy them when it is all said and done.
There are a ton of other companies/individuals who would pounce on the opportunity to lap up Youtube's market share, and the competition would be extremely consumer friendly, like it was on the early internet.
That's a GOOD thing. The individual companies will shrink and have to fix their business models in order to survive, plus all kinds of competition will finally be able to enter the internet tech space.
I get almost all my entertainment from youtube but you know what, ill live. Google and the rest of silicon valley are absolute cancers on this country.
This is an understatement. AdWords is Google's ONLY profitable department. They are in the red in every other aspect of their company. Everything else they run at a loss for the same reasons newspapers run at a loss. Because the true value lies in manipulating the user base and controlling/censoring discourse.
Correct. This is kicking their strongest, if not only, leg out from under them. Forcing the money holes to separate into independent companies means they will shrink BIG-LEAGUE. MAGA tech entrepreneurs, your time has come.
Yup, the advertising services should be decoupled from their other services and spun into an independent company. Same goes for anyone else who does the same, aka facebook for example.
They can't move to China. Foreigners cannot own companies in China, they'd have to partner with an existing Chinese company to set up shop there, and they already tried that, and got burned, hard.
Discord isn't related to, connected to, or invested in by Alphabet, unless it's silently through other entities. The most concerning investor in Discord is TenCent, ie. China. (Alphabet's investment division is called CapitalG, and they have no money in Discord)
Discord is it's own problem, they're quickly adopting the SJW model. They've, I've noticed, clamp down hard on anything non-gaming.
About 2 months ago the discord server I was a part of and modded got nuked and every account deleted. It was official unofficial gavin mcinnes discord. We were about 2000+ strong and even used discord for a portion of gavin mcinnes' live show. I got the same email. It seemed unrelated to anything we had done. If you are a fan of gavin mcinnes you can head over to his .win or his site Censored.tv where you can find shows with Gavin, Milo, Loomer, and more.

impatient people. you know how long it takes just to get a personal injury dispute settled? almost a year. now imagine you are taking on the biggest company on earth. got a lot of ducks to get in a row.
Eh, let 'em fight over the poisons they picked. Smartphones are the biggest "heads I win tails you lose" thing ever. I will say that Apple is best for "out of the box" security and Android is easier to customize. (Although it takes some work, you can kick google to the curb.)
I got my Surface Duo preordered for next week, and an iPod for iMessage with family. I think I am set.
I use a Linux/BSD laptop for all serious work. But I do need a phone on the go: SMS, GPS, audiobooks and podcasts, etc. Why pay more than $30? Getting a fancy phone just means I'll be more tempted to use it for more things.
Alphabet was an obvious antitrust target. Through YouTube, Google search, Google Maps and a suite of online advertising products, consumers interact with the company nearly every time they search for information, watch a video, hail a ride, order delivery in an app or see an ad online.
Looks like DOJ is going to target online advertising to force a break-up.
Be interesting to see the fallout. AdSense has it's tentacles in everything online. The entire internet economy is propped up by it. Surgically excised from Google/Alphabet is kicking one of their legs out from under them. Even if they fail, this lets the Fed expose Alphabet's internals and gives them discovery. Which Alphabet will expend their Scrooge McDuck money vaults to fight.
Attorney General Bill Barr "overruled career lawyers who said they needed more time to build a strong case against one of the world’s wealthiest, most formidable technology companies."
LOL, great move Mr. Barr. I can't make a business decision without factoring in Google's products. They can literally bury any of my enterprises in nanoseconds through an AI algorithm designed to do what a human would do to put me out of business.
I can't build a damned web page without having to take into consideration what Google will do, and what they might do, and what they may change their mind on.
I have seen businesses built and then destroyed by their behavior.
For real context, Google has the power to unperson you. No one should have this power, it is a deployed weapon operating within the confines of the market. They are operating outside of the law.
"Some 40 lawyers working on a DOJ antitrust inquiry into Google parent Alphabet were reportedly told to wrap up their work by the end of this month."
"Some argued this summer in a memo that ran hundreds of pages that they could bring a strong case but needed more time."
40 lawyers? When did this start. Yet they had enough time to write a several hundred page memo to complain that they needed more time? How freaking long does this take? How inefficient could they be? The ones complaining are probably Rats trying to delay until after the election.
Dude. Antitrust trials can take years to litigate, and mountains, literal libraries of documents gathered and managed. For example, the anti-trust litigation against Microsoft started in 92, with investigation, and wasn't litigated until 2001.
And, for every lawyer on board, add in at least two paralegals for each one (if not more, I would say at least 10 for each one on a case this big), and all manner of support staff. A literal army of people are guaranteed working on this, past the 40 official lawyers assigned to it. Just having 40 lawyers alone is a big deal.
And, lawyers always ask for more time. Job security.
Yes, antitrust trials can drag on for years. This is just the filing of the antitrust charges. I may be off here, but how long should that typically take? Seriously, I don't know but this just seems awfully long.
The party in power expects the action to be popular with its base, so they do it just before the election and brag about it to voters.
Right after the election =
(a) Swamp rats want to delay an enforcement action in the hopes that the other guy will win and quietly drop the enforcement action so they and their swampy friends will skate.
OR
(b)The party in power is afraid the action will piss off it voting base. The best time time to do that is just after an election, so hopefully the voters will forgive or forget before the next election.
That is worrisome. Within weeks means up to 3, as opposed to within a month or a fortnight.
That they didn't just say within THE month or by the end of the month makes it sound open ended.
The DOJ went after Microsoft in 2001 for abuse of monopolistic powers, and that was about the browser wars. That pales in comparison to what the current batch of tech giants are doing. It's 100x worst now. We are talking about stomping out free speech and influencing elections. I don't understand why it has taken so long. Get it done!
Just remember it was the ISPs who were all going to go apeshit and censor everything. Yeah, turns out it was just FAANG. The ISPs are jackasses too but FAANG was 'hey AT&T hold my beer' on jackassary.
They should have done this years ago. The last 18 months or so big tech has been in a hiring frenzy for anti-trust lawyers. They have been preparing for this to happen.
You should think about how little is said about this rather than this one article popping up. Crooks leak when it's good for them, and I haven't heard anything about an actual Google case since they announced they were looking into it a while back.
They will drag in a low level executive who worked in the compliance department, have them say they did something bad and plead guilty to Jay walking with 20 hours of community service. The DOJ have not impressed me at all with prosecuting anybody.
One of the most powerful tools we have. It's about time we began using it!
Thank God, this should’ve happened like a freaking decade ago. Remember when they did the spotlight on the protestor woman who’s idol was Osama Bin Laden?

That's a long way to simply say big social media needs to be classified as a publisher, not a platform.
No, it's better to force them open (platform). Then make them follow the rules. No playing favorites. Common carrier.
They won't. They are bad people who don't play by the rules. Oh, sorry, allow me to rephrase: they are bad people who only play by their OWN rules. Just imagine if we win, how much sweeter it’s gonna be. It’s shoes when you have the American people with you, all that other stuff can Fvck off
Very soon this will change. I have a solution that I’ve been working on for a while, that is 100% out of reach from big tech.
Meddling in the markets? You mean like every MSM news outlet?
It has nothing to do with markets, it has a lot more to do with them having a near monopoly.
If only there was some Third Way that we could take
but why are we announcing it? just do it and then interrupt some regularly scheduled rerun to share the news. frankly, i'm more concerned with the silencing and "disappearing" of conservative voices from sm, esp. this close to election day.

I can't imagine how hard it will be to find a judge that can't be blackmailed or bought off now.
Yeah, but we got a Trump. I like our chances.
And with 4 more years we'll have SCOTUS too. I like our chances even better.
Money is a powerful motivator (bribes); but eternal fame for being the judge that broke up Google is also pretty appealing to a lot of judges!
You know whoever that judge is will probably be assassinated
Despite this though, Google is extremely vulnerable, and I’ve got a 3 step plan that will put them out of business.
Maybe Trump's been reading Assange's book. If you read anything, read this chapter.
Google is Not What It Seems
Wow
Somebody please pardon that 'pede!
Thanks for the read.
Strange title, seems like Google is exactly what it seems
It was all over when they changed their slogan from "Do No Evil"
CIA does like their admirers...
GO AFTER THESE COMMUNIST THAT SEND ALL OUR DATA TO CHINA.
It’s good it’s finally happening, but not soon enough!
WHIPEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
I hope it includes the Youtube aspect of it. Would like to see Amazon up there, I think their abuse of being a monopoly is more egregious than Youtube.
Amazon needs to be on the list for sure.
But Google is a major powerhouse. The biggest, baddest digital advertiser in the game. The number one browser AND search engine AND the number one video platform. They need to be trust busted ages ago. They're so large and corrupt they can impact our republic.
do twitter and reditt as well
Do the handful of companies that own our entire media!!

I actually do know why, because globalism and free trade meant that American companies needed to be bigger to compete internationally, meaning that they can't have domestic competition.
Call me jaded but I don’t think anything will happen.
I tend to agree. Google (Alphabet) is so massive and has their claws into everything, I don't think God himself could stop them.
Google is far larger than that phone company
And that phone company has reacquired basically all their assets, as well as additional ones, and is bigger than they ever were.

They should turn google into a search engine utility for the US and seize all it's assets.
If it was about size, Disney should have been destroyed years ago.
There is a rather precise formula by market sector.. it's about % control.
This isn’t a fair description of the history. The breakup of AT&T led to a lot of problems, and probably slowed the adoption of cell phones in the US, not quickened it. The breakup also killed video calling technology until Facetime.

Part of me wonders if the internet will always be in a cycle of a monopolizing and trust busting.
Like one company grows exponentially until it gets too big and the government steps in and breaks it up.
I get almost all my entertainment from youtube but you know what, ill live. Google and the rest of silicon valley are absolute cancers on this country.
I’m fine with that. We need competition. That market is in late stage capitalism. Incredibly unhealthy.

The coming weeks...
The Globalist Media: "Why Coronavirus will never end, and you should submit to globohomo slavery."
Bill Barr: "We are very concerned with this developement and will be looking into this in the coming weeks."
REPEAT
I hate Barr. Why is it so hard to do it? I don’t get it.
He is likely swamp, just good at pretending he isn't.
Then get him out
Bingo
Followed by a sternly worded letter, mind you. They really mean it this time, triple pinky promise.
It let's Google prepare. Our DoJ needs to pull this stunt so that we continue waiting.
Dischord is another Bolshevik hive but its not under Goolags umbrella.
We need self-hosted / decentralized Discord.
Plenty of open source alternatives, such as Mattermost, Mumble, and Flock.
I don't know why anyone's using or promoting Discord, it's obviously a honeypot.
Discord isn't related to, connected to, or invested in by Alphabet, unless it's silently through other entities. The most concerning investor in Discord is TenCent, ie. China. (Alphabet's investment division is called CapitalG, and they have no money in Discord)

The timing of this had to be intentional. Force a decision with little time for Google to appeal.
4D chess.

I dont believe that. if I've learned anything in 2020 its that life can change drastically in 1 month.
I would love to be proven wrong.
I pray to God you are. I share your doubt. but I try and have faith.
Haha get dabbed on.
Here’s a tip TD, STOP USING SHITTY ANTI-AMERICA COPYCAT ANDROID PHONES
My coworkers with iPhones were amazed when they introduced Swipe typing. I was like bitch we've had that on Android for years.
Am I the only one who hates swipe? I feel so out of control with it.
I hate it since they got rid of the original "Swype" app, but it's still faster than normal typing for me.
I wanted ubuntu phone
It’s called APPLE.
They aren’t perfect, but damn they do try to protect consumers.
IPhones suck ass though. Also, apple isn't much better than Google
They are horrible. One button for everything. totally retarded.
No one cares what you think
It's true!
Actually from a privacy standpoint, apple is way better. Look at any black hat conference in the last 10 years.
Apple is better by every metric.
How's what? That iPhones suck or that apple is as bad as Google?
Yes
Apple..... ahahahahahahaha
Apple....the guys with the suicide nets hung up in their factories in china?
Google...the guys who steal your data and try to influence American elections? Lmao bud
I would rather dig out one of my old flip phones than use an iphone.
Shut up you faggot commie droid user
This one gave me a laugh xD
And you’ve got some Indian dude who sounds like a whimpering bitch (google CEO Sundar Pichai) microcock down your throat.
Lol what do you suggest? Apple is comped, and the Linux phone died.
If you are running the standard ios/Android kernal, nefarious forces have access.
I use a Linux/BSD laptop for all serious work. But I do need a phone on the go: SMS, GPS, audiobooks and podcasts, etc. Why pay more than $30? Getting a fancy phone just means I'll be more tempted to use it for more things.
If you value your privacy. Like banking, health, etc...you’d invest into security - which isn’t cheap
Google hired muh Hippocampus-potamus to accuse Kavanaugh. apparently
Exactly. Make sure GEOTUS wins in November and then grab your popcorn.
It'll be interesting for sure.
I want a 4am raid with SEAL Team Six!
FUCKING WINNING
Right, let's see some damn action for once
Get Facebook too! And Twitter.
That's it?
Why the fk are they waiting to do literally everything right before or after the election. What have you been doing other than investigating nooses
They're reminding the Communists running these companies that they will be left to hang if they don't meddle in the election.
Political Timing 101:
Right before the election =
The party in power expects the action to be popular with its base, so they do it just before the election and brag about it to voters.
Right after the election =
(a) Swamp rats want to delay an enforcement action in the hopes that the other guy will win and quietly drop the enforcement action so they and their swampy friends will skate.
OR
(b)The party in power is afraid the action will piss off it voting base. The best time time to do that is just after an election, so hopefully the voters will forgive or forget before the next election.
Don’t forget Amazon!
"within weeks" = after november 4th
Came here to say that... "Within 9 weeks to be exact..."
That is worrisome. Within weeks means up to 3, as opposed to within a month or a fortnight. That they didn't just say within THE month or by the end of the month makes it sound open ended.
Tik frickin tok.
I don’t believe you.
Yawn.
Call me when something happens.
Take your time Run out the clock like the Clinton case, the Weiner lap top,FISA abuse DOJ is a joke Justice in this country is a joke.
Unless muh sealed indictments
I'm just going to leave this here for y'all:
Google Makes Most of Close Ties to White House Search giant averages a White House meeting a week during Obama administration
Weeks turn into months, months turn into years and I will be dead before anyone is actually prosecuted.
Break them up!
They should have done this years ago. The last 18 months or so big tech has been in a hiring frenzy for anti-trust lawyers. They have been preparing for this to happen.
They never expected her to lose!
Google needs to be broken up because like Ma Bell, they got the ill communication.
sigh
Why is he tipping them off so they can start destroying documents?
You should think about how little is said about this rather than this one article popping up. Crooks leak when it's good for them, and I haven't heard anything about an actual Google case since they announced they were looking into it a while back.
Only a couple decade late. Don't forget their cohorts
Anti trust is a good start. Go after their platform protection next
Quick, short the stock!
They will drag in a low level executive who worked in the compliance department, have them say they did something bad and plead guilty to Jay walking with 20 hours of community service. The DOJ have not impressed me at all with prosecuting anybody.
"weeks".... Means after the election
Hurry the hell up.
Blue balls.
Habbening!
This should have been done three years ago.
Nah. Now it's deposition and discovery time. This is a trial, if it gets to court. This could take a decade before it's settled/a judgement made.
