God I wish I wasn't so broke and could do that for the missus. She loves that shit and it has been too long, and she works too hard, to go without it.
I'm in the middle of a career change, and studying for my AWS certification, so money was tight before all of this Kung Flu shit.
She is such a machine, and has been so unbelievable supportive throughout this stuff. When I met her she was an Obama voter. She was in a super lefty college before I knew her, in her defense. She disavows Barry and Big Mike as she calls them now and regularly battles her leftist college "friends" when they try to perpetuate commie talking points on social media now.
She got a really concerned message from a "friend" from her school on Instagram or whatever the other day asking her to please stop posting political stuff because "she was just making it harder for her to vote for Biden". I've never been more proud of her.
She finally admitted to me that she is scared about the election two days ago. Like really scared, but knows I will protect her. Broke my heart and hit me in a very different place.
I wouldn't be here if it weren't for such horrendously bad luck in my timing. This Kung Flu stuff opened up a ton of opportunity, but preparing for my test and studying full time killed the little capital I had just trying to support myself.
My instincts tell me to get an effective Kung Flu side hustle started up, but am leery of the the time it'll take away from my studies, especially considering how little capital I have. I am not afraid of sweat equity in the slightest, in fact it has been my bread and butter historically, but right now there are only so many hours in my day. Worried that my efforts could lead to delaying my certification and not provide the income offset that I want.
It is making me realize how often my solution to problems is just to hustle my way out of them, which is not a bad plan the overwhelming majority of the time. I just want to make sure I am working the smartest way possible and not wasting my energy, as there are many ways to skin a cat , if you will pardon my farmboy vernacular.
Of course my wife is telling me to keep studying, that we made this decision together and will be fine, and she'll be fine. She keeps telling me not to worry about her and the birthday party I wanted to throw for her isn't a big deal. Such a angel.
But that just makes me want to move mountains, yell "damn the Joepedoes!", and find a way to give it to her against the odds anyway.
Regardless, don't shed any tears for me, soon I'll get there. I'm just venting at the only place I know will understand.
There are many, many more people in much worse situations than I am. I have a ton to be grateful for and have been truly blessed in my life.
I live in the greatest country in the world, the best President since our first is in office and not going anywhere anytime soon, and I have an amazing wife to which I will obtain everything she has ever wanted, or die trying.
Trump needs to issue an EO making all magazine size restrictions, background checks for ammunition, 'featureless' mandates, suppressor restrictions, and time-based purchase restrictions illegal, as well as implementing CCW reciprocity at the federal level. I firmly believe this would prevent Nancy Pelosi from being set up by nefarious hair salons and help fight COVID.
