That's integrity and what UCLA did is just sad. You should not lower standards for people based on skin color. What happens should they graduate? Or do big tests? They won't lower the standards they look for cause you are a different skin color. This is just coddling them to a mindset of i get what I want cause I'm X skin color.

These fragile snowflakes really grind my gears, regardless of skin color. Let me tell you young pedes about how it used to be. When I took my SATs another kid in the exam room OD'ed on PCP and while he was convulsing he broke and went through a plate glass floor to ceiling window. After the ambulance took him away and they swept up the glass we all completed the test. People were a little shook up, including the proctors, but none of us considered that we had any options besides finishing. Two weeks before I left for college one of my closest friends died. I still packed my trunk and got on the plane and went off to school. My sophomore year in college my grandma who helped raise me died two weeks before final exams. I flew home for her funeral and right back to take my exams and turn in my final papers. And in grad school my mother had three emergency cancer surgeries the week I took my MA comps and defended my thesis. Real things that happened to people I loved and a real violent incident that happened 10 feet away from me. And like anyone back then I never thought of asking for special privileges or accommodations. Yet today's kids, kids of all races, need safe spaces and coloring books and time off to have a big sad because they can't cope with news stories. I fear for the world people with so little fortitude are going to create. And mad respect for this professor trying to maintain some standards and integrity. It isn't easy in the current environment, that's for sure.

Don't hire black UCLA grads or any color grads without testing yourself.

Standards are already lower based on ethnicity and gender at least in the engineering courses I took.

I was once overruled by the dept chair on a student's grades. Student had not been to half of classes and failed every assignment miserably. Student was barely literate, and should not have even been in university. Chair gave him a C instead of the F he deserved because he said he felt 'uncomfortable' in my class. Lazy fucker. Funny how none of my other black students ever no showed half the classes or failed miserably.

I busted my ass in school, studied hard, had a crazy tiger mom and have worked my ass off since.

No need for handouts or affirmative action. That’s nothing but a garbage mental trap. If you think you need the government to give you a leg up, then you’ve already lost.

Read recently that UCLA is also posturing to make covid vaccination mandatory for anyone that wants to be enrolled there.

June? I thought this was an update.

He was suspended, and had to have police protection.

Then end of June...

that instructors have "the flexibility to change their method of final assessments" so long as the final grade "reflect[s] the student's achievement in the course" and is "based upon adequate evaluation of the achievement," but does not require instructors to make any particular changes.

And you wonder why you get unqualified people in jobs all the time.

Back in 2017, California's state university system removed the intermediate algebra requirement for many bachelor's degree programs. You now can attain a bachelor's degree at a CA state college without having passed algebra. At the time, they stated the requirement was being dropped because it was "preventing too many students from under-represented communities from graduating" -- in other words, "We're dumbing down the curriculum so that low-IQ blacks can get their degrees".

What's more, a few weeks ago CA instituted a new requirement: all students must take an "ethnic studies class with a social justice component" during their time at college in order to be eligible for graduation. This means that all white students are required to take a class in which anti-white racism is shoved down their throats. The state is really trying to brainwash whites into hating their own race.

Let's think about White Fragility. I've felt bad about circumstances happening to other people, but it never meant I could skip out on classes or take time off work.

During Vietnam, everyone had relatives and friends who died. No one got out of work or school. You sucked it up and went on. White Resiliency? No, just people not letting life get them down. There are plenty of Black people who are strong, too, just not the social justice warriors.

You know who also gets special grades in school? People who are special needs. So in a sense, the people who are fighting for privileged grades are saying that black people need to be graded differently because their intelligence is not up to par with the other non-black students. Sounds racist.

LOL. Exploding space shuttles, collapsing bridges, inaccurate dosages, GIGO programing...it's all fine. So long as a dindu who only got in due to systemic racism can feel better about their grades, we can ignore the future collateral damage to these policies.

So he got fired for not raising the grading standards for white students?
