Look at the demographics. Almost 90% of Oregon is white. It can absolutely be turned red. It wouldn't surprise me if in 10 years Oregon is a solid red state and Texas is solid blue. That can happen.
That's a real phenomenon! A liberal friend of mine said five of her friends are moving out of SF because it's getting too unlivable there. And they were all going to keep voting left. They don't see a connection.
But there is a cultural shift going on. It will take years. It's possible they will wake up one day.
