It doesn’t mean you have to be perfectly happy with everything in your life, but it does mean that you should accept the experience that’s about to happen, however mild or intense, and relax into things vs. tense up and resist against it. My advice is to start with a small amount of shrooms around experienced buddies, if you have any. Get comfy and just chill. It’s usually a very fun, happy experience, especially if your first few times arent super intense experiences. Shrooms tend to seem more “organic” or “earthy” vs LSD, which helps the effects seem more familiar or understandable. LSD can get nutty real quick, whereas shrooms tend to produce fewer spikes and falls, if that makes sense.
Also, don’t do it in public, even if you’re microdosing. Just isn’t worth it, especially since it’s nearly impossible to drive or sometimes even walk in an inconspicuous manner. Your sense are being overloaded in a way you haven’t experienced yet, and it can overwhelm your critical thinking if you’re not careful. In fact, being as physically quiet and still as possible often makes for excellent experiences.
Many people say their moods and energy levels are way better when microdosing, hence the many calls for clinical research into using hallucinogens, esp. shrooms, as anti-depressants. CO decriminalized shrooms, so hopefully we see some progress on that end.
