This is an example of a Chinese "click-farm". Basically, it is a ton of smartphones or other communication electronics hooked up and managed by a central computer. The smaller electronics act like artificial "accounts" and "people" pushing buttons and clicking on links.

The main goal for these "farms" is to inflate the popularity or rating of something online without putting in the time to actually make something good. Want to have your crappy music video zoom straight to the top but could not be bothered to make a quality music video or do the proper marketing? Don't worry, just set up or hire a "farm" to continuously "view" the video and "hit the thumbs up" button all day long. That way, you'll be "#1" in no time.

This is the reason why I don't really bother with "ratings" too much on products or posts online. They can be easily manipulated with these Chinese "click farms".

Like Bieber's (and other pop stars) music video getting millions of views. Bullshit. No one is really watching that garbage.

On one hand, certain that none of the numbers they claimed would have watched the mediocre video.

On the other hand , YouTube shills so hard for the “mainstream” entertainment and. Display them so prominently on attune front page that I won’t be surprised if 10 million out of 500 million visitors per day click on Bieber by mistake .....
