Unpopular opinion. I dont care about the jeffrey epstein thing at all. I dont spend any time thinking about pedophiles or human traffickers. I dont think these things are good, but its the job of law enforcement and the courts to deal with that. My righteous outrage over any crime committed by anyone doesn't do anything. I care only about my personal freedom as a law abiding citizen. State of CA wants to make 200k gig workers unemployed because of their ideological malicious agenda. That affects me so i care. Commies want to block my ability to go about my day as a law abiding citizen driving the roads. I care. That affects me. Dems want to destroy the country to appease their psychopathic constituents, i care. Amazon and the big tech want to eliminate immigration laws so they can expand their markets and get cheap labor. I care. Laws being passed to limit my ability to express myself or defend myself, i care. Someone abusing someone else... i dont care. Call the cops. I will say if someone sexually abused my little sister, my kids, my family - then I wouldn't stop until I personally 'handled business'. Nothing the courts or cops could do would satisfy my rage over something like that. I dont obsess over pedophiles hiding behind every corner because there are problems i have that are far more detrimental to my life. Unfortunately the world elite do care and it’s all tied together, so it’s important to look at the big picture. Most people can’t comprehend that pedophiles getting arrested, virus outbreaks and racial driven civil unrest are all related without being lead to that conclusion.
Yes, I agree with the big picture outlook. But for example, Biden sniffing people. If you sniff my daughter, I'm beating the shit out of you - RIGHT THERE. I don't care. Ignoring the broader aspects of child exploitation and sexualization is what leads to the normalization of those activities in places where you don't have control. You can't watch your daughter every second of every day, unfortunately. What happens when a transgender shows up to your kids school for "reading day" and sniffs your child or worse? You may never know until it's too late, which is why it's important to pay attention to all of the issues as though they DO impact you directly. Because if they go unchecked, they will. I understand where you are coming from and feel the same way as you from time to time, but I try to snap myself out of it so that I'm prepared to fight the battles that seemingly show up at my door out of nowhere.
I am coming at it from a different angle - I think 18 as age of consent is ridiculous and having 17 year olds prostituting themselves to rich people is a non-issue to me. I grew up in a poor country, young women do that sort of thing - its bad for society because if it becomes common it can cripple formation of proper nuclear families but I do not see it as some major case of predation on the youth.
That said, Epstein case is important to me not because it looks like every major politician fucked a 17 year old, but because it looks like every major politician is under the thumb of the same blackmail scheme. That's a problem
Agreed. That's not the story though. The story is basically a sex scandal. And I don't disagree that its important, I simply, personally, don't get up in the morning trying to hunt the next pedophile that might pop up because I have like 100000 other things I should be worrying about, and I feel there is an obsessive psychological element in this issue for some people that I simply don't feel the same way about. I agree that world leaders being involved in a blackmailing scandal is important and needs to be exposed.
