It was a clear Pepsi. Looked like Sprite, but tasted like Pepsi. Interesting stuff. It came back a few years ago for a limited time.

This is correct. It was weird having a clear drink taste exactly like a cola. I am not really even a cola drinker but I would buy that occasionally back in the 90s.
