"Freedom of the press" is an outdated and obsolete concept. The Founders could never have imagined electronically transmitted information or the performance of modern high-capacity printing presses. It's time for some common sense restrictions on mainstream media. No more "anonymous sources" or half-truths. Corporate newsmedia should be prohibited from reporting anything as factual or even potentially factual unless it can be independently verified by any layman outside the media.

Anonymous sources should have to be shared and vetted with a third party agreed upon by both sides in a libel lawsuit. Along with call logs and private testimonies from the sources under oath.
Freedom of the press meant you could print whatever you want (aside from libel, which is what this is). The word press referred to a literal printing press, not some nebulous protected class of people, that bullshit came later.
