They just as sincerely believe they have the right to resist arrest, too, and don't have to do anything anyone tells them - not a parent, not a teacher, not a coach, not a cop, nobody.

All of those people are simply there to be used if and when these fools want something.They're just servants and have zero authority as far as these people are concerned. That's why they'll scream for the cops to help THEM when somebody finally hits back, and see nothing strange about that.
