It robs Americans of their most valuable resources, time and money. It disenfranchises the disadvantaged. It fills children with hatred and lies instead of teaching them skills. It burdens the next generation with insurmountable debts. It pays its workers some of the lowest wages in the country. The whole system is broken and needs to be replaced. School Choice should be one of the top issues for Republicans.

Teachers I knew in rural CA K-12 were making over 70K/year after 5-10 years. Pretty good living, they get most of the summer off, great benefits.
But the work ethic at the schools would make the post office look like overachievers. They were left wing and lazy; rain forest, global warming, black history month, nothing else mattered. It's easier to teach blame than useful skills.
School choice is the only answer, then Prager or Hillsdale could come out with K-12 online/homeschool augmentation and American kids would have access to a great educational system.
