Bail for Kyle Rittenhouse has been set at a ridiculous 2 million. In WI that's 2 mill in cash, not the usual 10% with a bondsman like in so many other jurdictions. The kid is only 17 with no priors or money. This is a clear abuse of power. (twitter.com)

iirc, he's actually being held in IL- and they refused to allow WI to extradite him

couple questions:

  • is that still true? and
  • what is IL law on this?

ninja e: it appears i was correct. no trolling/flaming. these are serious questions

proper e: if i'm understanding this correctly, he could post bond with 200k cash; but, then, i guess the real question is if he's safer there or with his family
