The company I worked for until recently was becoming immersed in this nonsense. the repetitive regional Skype meetings during which facts about George Floyd were contorted and omitted contributed to the reason for my departure.

Join the meeting with camera and mic off, muted, and if they ask you anything they will just assume technical difficulty. It worked for me! At least I assume it did, my paychecks are still coming in.
Can't you just play their videos on mute, or do they have BS questions about what the characters said to each other as a "quiz"?
The ones I've had to do, that mostly works (and not just for "diversity training". It works for cybersecurity "training", privacy "training", any of them). Still annoying, but just put it on in the background and/or go do something else while the video plays, come back and answer a few painfully obvious questions, repeat.
It's more than just HR with some of these silicon valley companies, they have a dedicated diversity position that influences their hiring process as well as their in-house Codes of Conduct (which HR usually does play a part in)
And yea, don't get me started on Colleges. It's more than just a position now, many have an entire department dedicated to diversity. It's insanity
It's not just silicon valley it's most major corporations now. They call it "diversity and inclusion", I call it racism and exclusion.
Actually they’ve added to it even more now. My Fortune 500 utility added “diversity equity and inclusion” to our “core values” and we have mandated training every month about how racist all whites are 🥱
Legislation is only as good as its enforcement.
