I've been speaking up for Trump on an internet forum that occasionally discussed politics. I have one responder that is absolutely incredulous that I don't believe Trump is using the presidency to enrich himself.
I want a carefully crafted redpoll, because there are persuadable people on this board.
My main argument is going to be that he's lost over a billion dollars in net worth since becoming president - citing this article from Forbs:
What else would you add to persuade on this point?
Well, he donates his entire presidential salary to things like National Parks and Veterans Cemetaries. He works tirelessly, 24/7. He has brought many BILLIONS of dollars of work and wealth to the country through his various negotiations - everything from getting NATO countries to pay what they are supposed to be paying to negotiating bringing millions of jobs back to the USA. And that's just for starters.
I wonder if what they'd say if you asked them if it bothered them that Obama enriched himself? His many multi million dollar residences, etc. He earned 400k a year as president, so how did he get all the money to live his luxurious lifestlye. A 65 million dollar advance on a book - that's 'reasonable?' Really? It's the double standard that's hard to bear with these people. Obama is worth many, many millions of dollars more after his presidency than before and Trump spent a billion of his own money to help the country and people he loves. But Trump is the one in the wrong. Geesh.
