Like most things coming from the media, this was a prepared attack that was coordinated with most of Trump's opponents ahead of time. At Biden's press meeting yesterday, he said he couldn't comment on the Muslim/Israel deal because he didn't know enough about it yet, but he knew enough about the article to discuss it during half of the press meeting.
They coordinated the drop of the article and everyone was ready for it
