Are there any laws covering dereliction of duties for district attorneys in America? Because that’s incredibly obviously what he’s been doing

Yes. Misconduct gets them disbarred, and they are supposed to faces charges in relation to that misconduct as well. Most of the time they get a slap on the wrist like a single day in jail.

If "disbarred" means he gets hit with dis crowbar till he does his job or resigns, I'm cool with that.

If I go to work and tell my boss I refuse to work...I’ll be wearing a pink slip immediately. There has to be accountability.
