I don't know the rules that well but I just had a look and it looks like because Harris filed for the primaries, she may be valid for running if the Dems changed their endorsement. Someone who knows the rules better should feel free to correct me. I base this off of the info on this page.
Thinking about it, this could be why she dropped out early. She never actually faced a primary vote so can not be said to have been "rejected" by the Dems at any stage.
I think it is so bad that they're keeping Harris away from the press so that she isn't tainted by this fiasco.
They intend to swap her in at the last moment.
Can they do that? Won't the votes be for Biden? Doesn't he have to take this across the finish line?

Yeah, I suspect they could change their nomination, but I guess my point was this:
If they change the nomination just before election day, would any of those fraudulent mail in votes for Biden actually count?
