Today marked 101 days of protest in Louisville KY. Because of the Kentucky Derby running today, a bunch of groups decided to show up so they can have their 15 minutes of fame. Race still went off without a hitch (Congratulations Authentic for winning the 146th Kentucky Derby!) even though there were no fans in attendance.
The horses weren't happy today either. One of Bob Baffert's two entries did a back flip in the saddling ring and though he looked ok he had to be scratched right there at the last minute.
His other entry, Authentic, did win the Derby. But in the winner's circle, the horse suddenly swung his tail end around in a big circle and knocked Baffert to the ground. Sent everyone scattering. Makes it hard to get those pics with the blanket of roses!
They had the bugler play 'My Old Kentucky Home' didn't show any of the few horse people that were allowed in singing along (no fans in attendance this year) and didn't run the lyrics on the bottom of the screen like they have in years past. Today marked 101 days of protest in Louisville KY. Because of the Kentucky Derby running today, a bunch of groups decided to show up so they can have their 15 minutes of fame. Race still went off without a hitch (Congratulations Authentic for winning the 146th Kentucky Derby!) even though there were no fans in attendance.
The horses weren't happy today either. One of Bob Baffert's two entries did a back flip in the saddling ring and though he looked ok he had to be scratched right there at the last minute.
His other entry, Authentic, did win the Derby. But in the winner's circle, the horse suddenly swung his tail end around in a big circle and knocked Baffert to the ground. Sent everyone scattering. Makes it hard to get those pics with the blanket of roses!
