It should absolutely, in my eyes anyway, apply to ANY power structure powerful enough to usurp the rights and will of the people. I have no doubt that if the Founding Fathers suspected a private company could become as powerful as ours have (where they are multinational and more powerful than any independent government) they would've done the same. It is furthermore the responsibility of the government to ensure that our rights are upheld and preserved. The Constitution is either the supreme law of the land, or Google and Facebook's Terms ans Services Agreement are. The government and the people need to make it loud and clear which one it is.
