Pretty weak by them to say he shouldn’t be there. This is simple cause and effect. We should have never gotten to the point that people like Kyle feel it necessary to protect local businesses. Without millions of dollars in damage across every major city that has had protests turn into riots, there wouldn’t be other citizens going out to stop it. Saying Kyle shouldn’t have been there is literally telling people they shouldn’t help others. If you’re a business owner who lost property to riots you shouldn’t ask people to come protect other properties that aren’t burning rubble. Just let this shit happen, what a joke. And the part about being “untrained”, that can mean anything they want it to. Pretty sure the kid had years of training with guns, but since he didn’t serve two tours in the army and specialize in sharp shooting he’s untrained. All the training that kid had in his life paid off big time, fuck Wall Street journal.

He shouldn't have been there. But that doesn't make it illegal that he was. Which is the fucking point.

The point of his defense against the bullshit murder charges is that he did nothing illegal. The point of my comment is people saying he shouldn’t have been there are wrong. It’s dumb and lacking rationale. I went over how unreasonable it is to expect a business owner to just let this happen. And after he’s lost property and valuables to rioting what’s he supposed to do? Hire trained guards? Is he supposed to have several former or current military friends or family to call for help? Why should Kyle not have been there?

Well, technically, they are correct (and so are you). More or less, nobody should've been there and none of this nonsense we are living through right now shouldn't have been happening. Yet, here we are.

I hear what you’re saying, but it’s cause and effect. Without the cause of mass property damage across the country the effect of people fighting back doesn’t happen. Because the protests and BLM turned into violent criminals, it’s down to us regular citizens to either defend the property we value or let them destroy it in the name of lies. Kyle was at the right place at the right time. It’s concrete evidence of the nature of these criminals in the streets at night. Protests are protests. At night it’s become clear most people outside are looking to vandalize, loot, burn, the list goes on. We can either accept it or be like Kyle. Unless trump does something to put an end to it. The election is too far away, the shit at night needs to end.

You aren't seeing a much, much, much bigger picture. But that^ is a good start.

That’s a very good point, and they did that for the most part. In hindsight he definitely shouldn’t have gone alone, even though if the story is true (haven’t seen footage of this part myself) that he was going back and forth helping injured people at the gas station and before he could get back to his group he was chased down. But even then, it’s hard to fault him that. Accept it or be like Kyle was probably too strong, but this is where we are currently. Obviously if you’re going to protect private property we now know keep a large group at all times regardless of circumstances. I just can’t fault him for having shown actual altruism.

Opinion pieces don’t mean shit. That writer expressed HIS opinion about Facebook, not the paper or the editorial board.
