I spent the week in DC. I walked the mall, downtown, and around the White house, and over half were not wearing masks. The people are getting it. Bars and restaurants were serving. I had a good time, but glad to be back in Texas. Of course coming from Texas I was required to quarantine for 14 days. Who does that?

Thank you for posting this. All of us in Texas need to write our governor and demand we open up. Personally I rarely wear my mask. We are Texans not wimps.

I don't wear my mask in Texas, well other in stores because I respect the shop owners, I agree, we need to just open it up.

Absolutely. America is the land of the free, the home of the brave. Not a horde of cowards shivering in their basements due to a virus with a vanishingly small fatality rate.

So, for the highest leftist-supported number, 180,000 or so "died of covid" (nope, but just for argument's sake). How many have died in the USA in the last six months, hmm? It's going to be around 1.25 million people in a typical year (2.5 million annually). So, what, at worst something like a 10% increase? Not to be callous, but do we shut down life for over 300 million people for this? It's insane.

It's a significant number, but the point is people die every day of many things. WHY would we SHUT DOWN the entire economy for this? It should never have happened, and it needs to stop right now. Protect the vulnerable, let them hide from the bug, walk around in full haz-mat suits, live in quarantine.

The rest of the world needs to just get back to work, live normally, drop the useless masks.

I DID...I was ready to wear it....going to DC...but heck. If they aren't complying, why should I?

This is exactly why I dont wear one. Normalization... but in the other direction. A lot of people are just waiting for others to do stuff first.

I live in the heart of the beast (DC) they know the masks don't work that's why. I haven't seen ONE single metro DC cop wearing a facemask. It's different rules for the underprivileged aka you.

I have to respond....I'm not underprivileged, I have the same privileges as anyone else.
