Yah depends on the person, my astigmatism made eotechs hard to use. Would blow out the reticle, but the newer eotechs are better. I am currently using a trijicon MRO on my work rifle and I like it alot, plus it's pretty affordable ($400ish).
I want to get a variable 1-6ish optic next to try it out.
The biggest problem I see with all these reflex optics is people don't use them correctly. You don't focus on the dot/optic, you focus on the threat/what your aiming at with both eyes open, then the reticle projects onto your target. Took me a while to get used to it.
I think it's the holographic weapon sites that are not great for ppl with astigmatism. Red dots are not as bad

As someone who has bad astigmatism and is currently looking for an optic, I thank you. I'll be looking into the trijicon MRO.
That sucks. You aren't the first person I have heard have this experience either.
