They used to have (almost) balanced coverage. Reported on the riots when other papers minimized, called out Rittenhouse as self defense, just generally not horrid levels of coverage.
Today the top 4 headlines are all smears from cohen's book broken into individual stories and leading with the lies. All the riots last night are lumped into one "protest" story, they won't show footage of the Rochester terrorism where they destroyed a restaurant around diners, etc etc.
Right about the same time facebook cracks down on Rittenhouse stories, banned more conservative journalists, and announced they'd ban "fake claims of electoral victory" - which means they're going to stop anyone from saying "Trump Won" before all the absentee / manufactured ballots are counted.
Did a memo go out? Is it just "TWO MONTHS LEFT, STOP DRUMPF!"?

I really liked having one paper that was almost neutral, where I could read the news without being constantly insulted.
I knew it was pure profit-driven trash, and I embraced that. It was just a nice change. But clearly someone has sway over the paper, and they're now pushing persuasion over profits.
