We had a guy where I use to work who ended up transitioning to become a "female". Since he started, he went through a nasty divorce and lost his kids. He started the hormone treatment and would call out of work every other day because his body was rejecting the hormones he was putting in his body, and it would make him sick.
Well he finally got around to legally changing his name and a liberal boss of ours thought it was a special occasion. He sent out an email to all the employees asking to come by his desk so we can sign a congratulations card on this guy changing his name legally and getting one step closer to the transition.
Me and a couple others outright refused because we didn't feel like it was anything worth celebrating, because it's not. So after that day, we sorta became the black sheep. I ended up taking a promotion and a new job within our organization, so I moved out of that department and into another.
Another guy, a few months later, ended up getting promoted and moved to my department. I asked him what ever happened to the tranny and he said he got fired because he was taking too many days off due to being sick. Then I asked about my previous boss and he told me he ended up getting in trouble for making a hostile work environment to some of the employees.
I was a crossdresser for a while. Never tried to transition. Never tried hormones. Tempting on some level, but I much prefer my good health to pursuing an unreachable rainbow.
I read some accounts of people who lost their husbands, fathers or sons to transgenderism. In fact, there's a website called "healing from crossdressing" for crossdressers trying to stop. The guy who runs it made an astute observation: What activity do you commonly associate with someone deteriorating, making more and more bad decisions that ultimately cost him his job, his family, his health, maybe even his life? What activity most closely resembles transgenderism and transition?
And that's without even mentioning the self-mutilation of the "sausage-chopping", the "wound-gouging" (since a male body does not have a second hole between their legs, and the human body generally tries to seal up any gaping wounds over time), and the breast implants, which would ALL absolutely RUIN any attempt at a self-image.
It's like you're combining drug addiction with the worst aspects of "transformative plastic surgery" (you know, the people who pay boatloads of money to change their body to become lizards, celebrities, or Barbie dolls), and then sticking the resulting mind-shattering cocktail onto people with an ACTUAL WELL-DOCUMENTED MENTAL ILLNESS (Gender Dysphoria).
The worst part of it all? In 99+% of Gender Dysphoria cases, if you give the patient some decent psychological treatment and keep them off of any chemical/surgical treatments, they will NATURALLY ACCEPT THEIR GENDER IDENTITY and BECOME NORMAL BY THE TIME THEY REACH ADULTHOOD.

Re: personal story. Thanks! Luckily not much happened, and I was able to cut it off, and just avoid my neighbor, and he didn’t pursue any if it any further. I also stopped being his friend, obviously. He was mainly just a horny teenager experimenting, I don’t see it as ill intent. But it just shows how much power, older kids and definitely adults, teachers, have over kids. This law gives the wrong signal. Pedophiles might literally think the kids want it eventhough they are coercing and quite literally raping them.

One of them committed suicide about a year after transitioning, and the other one I recently heard died from “health complications”. I dunno if “health complications” is code for suicide, or if the hormones or surgery caused irreversible problems.

At 18 you are an adult in the eyes of the law. If you get caught with alcohol you will be charged as an adult for not being adult enough. That's kind of where you lose me. One of them committed suicide about a year after transitioning, and the other one I recently heard died from “health complications”. I dunno if “health complications” is code for suicide, or if the hormones or surgery caused irreversible problems.
What pissed me off is, for one of them they sat us all down and had a company “diversity coach” (ugggh) sit us down to let us know it was coming. Someone ask what I thought was a legit question...”is X going to start wearing dresses now?” The diversity coach then proceeded to lecture us that it was a private matter and we shouldn’t be asking such questions. I wanted to say “mother fucker, this tranny shit is new to some of us. Let us ask what questions we want, or let us get back to work”

My DMV that's in my area is in the biggest city in our county (about 10k people, NW Wisconsin) they redid their setup a few years back and ita much faster than it used to be, actually pretty nice

I don’t think that’s the sole point of the law. Since most humans aren’t fully developed until their 20s it makes sense to not allow them to consume harmful products, by law. Of course teens will still get drunk, same as people committing any other act legal or not.
At 18 you are an adult in the eyes of the law. If you get caught with alcohol you will be charged as an adult for not being adult enough. That's kind of where you lose me. From a scientific point of view I get it, but an 18yr old has the right to make thousands of other decisions that are dangerous to their health, might as well throw everything else on the list too.
I get lost there too. There’s other areas I don’t fully agree with the age limits so I agree with that point. And it surely gets muddy, there’s many opinions that hold valid points. Cuz I would think it’s ok to charge 18 and over as adults, while not fully developed as a human they are very much developed to the point of knowing right and wrong. So along with that other choices like entering the armed forces would be fine at 18. And in that specific case I would allow active serving citizens under 21 the right to alcohol.
