ar15, chambered in 556, is probably best bet. If you don't mind spending more for ammo, and can purchase a suppressor, 300 blackout is pretty cool. edit - you can get an ar15 and purchase a separate 300 blackout upper. Then you can swap between the 556 and 300 blackout upper.

This is the way. And the you have an excuse to give the misses when you "need" another lower. "I already have the upper"
