God so true. Before I was redpilled in the Obama years I was comfortably numb with the media and what they supplied me, and how I was supposed to think. I wouldn’t trade this for the world now

I got redpilled in 1996. I was 12. A family member of mine runs a business that employs a bunch of ex military. Once a year he threw a party and all the guys came and brought their friends. I figured out if I fetched beers I could here awesome war stories. Long story short, one guy was a disgruntled, depressed, drunk former secret service agent. He had just enough beer in him to start telling Hillary stories. Ho-lee-shit.

5
DoomieGrunt 5 points ago +5 / -0

My first redpill came in the form of those "Obama's America" websites. I didn't think too much of it, though I could never really shake off the feeling that 'something was wrong' when politics came up ever since.

73
physicscat 73 points ago +74 / -1

Another way to be red-piled is to just get older. I'm 49.

I was too young to vote for Reagan, but i wish I could have.

I voted Democrat. Mistake.

I voted Republican. Mistake.

I voted Libertarian, still do.

You learn over time to be cynical. The kind of people who want to be politicians, aren't usually very good people. Even the good ones get sucked in by the power.

I'll vote for Trump, because he is hands down the least secretive, most transparent politician I've ever seen. You literally know what he's thinking. He tweets it.

He actually kept and has tried to keep campaign promises.

He didn't take money from endorsements and PACs. He isn't owned.

Yeah, he's got issues. But everything else outweighs them.

People go the other way. My dad is a lifelong republican but might not vote Trump this year just because he hates his demeanor

12
totallymad4u 12 points ago +12 / -0

This is the most asinine thing I hear from people who are Republicans. Imagine your toilet is backfiring and there are only two plumbers who can fix it. One, is a smooth talking, very nice person, who is really bad at his job. The other is an asshole, speaks like a hard ass, but is the best fucking plumber in the city.

Who would you task to fix your toilet?

If your answer isn't the asshole plumber, then there is something wrong with your brain and you just like toilets that backfire.

Imagine choosing the social and amicable plumber who doesn't know how to do his job and then think, would you want a person like that to be your president and in charge of your country?

Tell your father this. Seriously, centipede, you have to redpill him on this using the example I've mentioned.

5
Eclectus13 5 points ago +5 / -0

3

4
TerraHertz 4 points ago +4 / -0

Trump's 'demeanor' is mostly an act he puts on, to make his opponents underestimate him.

It's also now apparently his means of trolling democrats and the deep state. Getting them to 'set fire to their feet' metaphorically speaking.

I took the pill a long time ago. Sometimes I miss the blissful ignorance.

I miss going to the movies without cringing at who was on the screen.

I miss meeting up with friends and laughing about Billy bobs latest shenanigans rather than intense political discussions.

I miss being able to enjoy life without having to think about everything from a political perspective.

I miss the innocence of believing in the American Dream.

But I would NEVER ever go back to a brainwashed, pre-awaked state of blissful ignorance.

21
TheOneWhoKnocks 21 points ago +22 / -1

I miss going to the movies without cringing at who was on the screen.

OK, but do you see all the propaganda in every single TV and movie now? Regardless of who is in it? It's insidious. I'm not even talking about the obvious stuff, like minorities and women always being the heroes and stuff that. I'm talking about the subtle stuff, that goes way way back, like how only the assholes espouse traditional views while all of the "cool" people accept the new reality, aka globohomo nonsense.

I'll give you an example, and once you've seen it, you'll notice it everywhere: for DECADES, any truly religious Christian has been portrayed to have negative qualities, as either a pervert, a liar, a hypocrite, or just a really really mean person. The only ones who are "nice" are the ones who accept globohomo.

6
FudgyFudgeBots 6 points ago +6 / -0

Thats what Im talking about. After the red pill, you become aware that everything you see and hear is designed to train and condition us for the new world order.

You can never veg out and enjoy a movie or tv show anymore. Even the old shows are contaminated. I cant hear the word "disney" without thinking about pedos and what those poor kids suffered. Every tv show now is blatantly pushing an agenda and I HATE being manipulated so I cant watch them.

I miss the peaceful feeling of being blissfully ignorant but theres no way I would ever go back. My peace now comes from watching the cabal be exposed.

I stayed in Japan several years ago and good lord the expats and other foreigners living there were so annoyingly lefty I had to avoid them. They're in a freaking foreign land working or on vacation and still felt the need to talk about bad Bush was and how America is racist and sexist. When Trump was running most Japanese didn't give a shit either way but expats and American "experts" on TV were explaining how Trump is a racist and we have to vote in Hillary if we want to keep trade open with Japan. (TPP)

I'm not there any more, but guess I should have looked for some quality peeps like based military guys to drink with.

I am ashamed to have been in the trance of football for so long. I played in Elementary, middle, and High school. I wasn't a bad player, but I didn't get a college scholarship. I spent tens of thousands on merch and season tickets through my 20's thinking I was a part of my favorite team. Now its just so empty, dumb and hollow. I regret every moment spent watching a game, listening to commentary, and engaging in stupid childish fantasy leagues. I morn for every dollar wasted on the sport. Watching commies die is pretty sweet.

7
RexCollumSilvarum 7 points ago +8 / -1

Don't regret that time spent as a fan; you were part of a community. You made friends; you learned some history. You've got something with which you can bond with a total stranger you meet many miles from home.

Of course, you can do all of that with a MAGA hat just as well as with a Green Bay Packers or Buffalo Bills hat. We've got a pretty good team too.

3
zabbers 3 points ago +3 / -0

Based. Nothing wrong with watching sports and following teams as long as as you recognize that it's just casual entertainment. It's not the same as actually playing sports (which is much healthier) and not at all important in life.

13
bh506407 13 points ago +13 / -0

I know it’s a joke, but it’s actually pretty poignant. Every time I turn on a television I see it. Attempted manipulation. Even in programming that isn’t supposed to have anything to do with politics. It’s everywhere. Some situation crafted in order to subtly make you think the left wing view is correct.

And this is why so many idiots think that reality has a left wing bias. Because to them, the situations crafted by studio executives and leftist writers is reality.

Television is a lie. Social media is a lie. MSM news is a lie. Academia is teaching lies. The politicians do nothing but lie.

In a world of universal deceit, the truth will look appalling and draw hatred.

That’s where we are now. It’s why every institution imaginable is attacking Trump viciously and spreading as much hatred and division as they can.

But the beautiful thing about the truth is that once you learn it, it sets you free. Free thinking and free men create strong societies. This is why me must continue redpilling the masses and freeing this country of communist monster that has come out of the shadows because it fears it is losing its grip of control over it.

Set this country free and we can take it to the greatest heights it has ever seen. Colonies in space and beyond. The sky’s the limits, we could go where no men have ever gone before. Rather than bickering and squabbling with each other over wedge issues that never mattered or affected the majority of people anyway.

I just hope the truth will prevail. It has to. Or we will go the other direction. A new dark age being ushered in. It is up to us to stop it.

2
Bonami 2 points ago +2 / -0

1

2
bh506407 2 points ago +2 / -0

Good point, Muhammad was a pedophile and a murderer. Islam is a cancer and Sharia Law is completely incompatible with Western society.

Yet so many idiots want to import that backward culture into the USA and think that it won’t have horrible ramifications down the road.

Islam and the radical extremism that it breeds, must not be given a pass any longer. It is by far the worst offender of any religion being practiced currently in that respect.

Trump destroying ISIS should be enough for the entire world to want him back in office. Yet msm will keep pushing lies while he helps broker peace in the Middle East and brings more of our troops home. It’s absolutely nuts how horrible these communist authoritarians are. They’re just as bad as the islamofascists, only the government is their religion. They worship the state and the party that runs it.

Very true. Before, I was happy enough living in the bubble of 'normie' culture, but there was always a deep seated and indefinable sense of anger at basically everything, and a firm belief that trying to fix anything was hopeless unless the government did it.

Now, mainstream media and what's 'trending' seems boring, vacuous and artificial, but I'm calmer, more focused and far more content with life. We have a lot of problems to deal with, but we will deal with them, one way or another.

7
Pearls_Swine 7 points ago +7 / -0

Thank you for your input. That is a very positive way to look at things. I, too, was a very happy person before I was redpilled. I saw the world at its face value and had a general trust for media and education.

Sometimes, I wish I could go back to being ignorant. Sometimes I don't even know who I am or who I want to be. I wish I could be like my liberal friends, happily talking about pop culture. But I cannot do it when I see the insidious cancer hiding beneath it. It's sad, but not as sad as being brainwashed into being a mindless NPC.

I still have bouts of hopelessness. Some days are just that way. I try to unplug a bit when that happens, but I'd never want to go back to sleep. My family's future depends on it.

8
TheOneWhoKnocks 8 points ago +8 / -0

I still have bouts of hopelessness.

Why? There is no reason to be without hope. Trust me when I say that the regular Americans (us) are the majority, screw what you see on TV, and all of the turmoil we have going on right now is specifically because the evil BS is coming to light.

I had a job a long time ago delivering furniture (and sometimes also picking it up for non-payment). There was one apartment I will never forget. We were there to pick up furniture. It looked like a nice enough place, with young mom and dad and their little baby, but mom and dad obviously over-extended themselves.

Every single piece of furniture we picked up had cockroaches living under them by the tens. It was fking horrifying. I would pick up a chair, and cockroaches would scatter everywhere, including on and around the chair, to the point where I would drop it and say "oh shit!" It was a horror show - cockroaches running everywhere including around the baby that was sitting on the kitchen floor. I was so mad and disgusted I wanted to explode.

So you'd think that it was a hopeless situation, and that cockroaches owned the world and the family that lived there was doomed, but really what was happening was that the family was being made aware that there WERE cockroaches everywhere. Much horror in the beginning, but it was the only way for them to realize that their housekeeping had been, um, inadequate. Now that they could see it, they could DO SOMETHING about it. But until the worst happened, and their furniture got repo'ed and the cockroaches went on a rampage, they would have gone for a long time thinking everything was OK, while the whole damn building got infested, and their kid got some nasty disease for life. The horror show was what made the positive change possible.

Do not despair, my friend. The horror show has started, but it's just the cockroaches scattering because they know they're FKED.

What exactly have conservatives actually conserved?

this has been one of the hardest things for me. I was redpilled about the deep state back in 2003, but the much more painful redpill about pizzagate/satanic rituals/human trafficking/pedowood/etc was in 2018 and I absolutely mourn that ignorance at times. I feel like that stupid-happiness left, never to return. all my normal escapes from hard times felt dirty knowing what I do now about Hollywood. all my music escapes felt the same. but, I have never had my life priorities straighter & been striving for more pure truly happiness-building goals (e.g. using all my free time/energy/money to do outdoor activities that bring me TRUE happiness & make me feel alive vs sitting inside getting drunk watching Game of Thrones, centering my vacations around skiing vs cities with good bars, spending my money on things like plants vs dumb shit like designer bags, generally accepting my everyday reality vs drowning in fantasy etc). the escapes of mass media stop people from searching for what makes them truly happy, and while painful, I'm glad I got that drug out of my system forever, and pray for those who are yet to be redpilled. ITS WORTH IT.

Some people have one single experience that is the push, or it can be a slow process. Everyone is different that way. But one day you look back and realize you've covered a lot of ground and you see things very differently now.

This singer I liked when I was really young was molested by her manager. He molested all his child proteges. Later he moved on to be powerful in regular entertainment & those kids somehow became jokes. When the scandal hit... the media was actually making FUN of the victims even more so then before. I guess that was my first red pill when I just couldn't watch tv with any enthusiasm afterwards. I just think of every clown on tv not giving a shit whose soul they have to sell to be the jesters.

I have never been happier since I was converted from communism. It's so much easier to not hate everything and be angry all the time. I love America and our President!

NPCs never found happiness in their reliance on mass media. They were constantly REEEEEEEing and pissed off at fake injustices, and Trump's "racism" and the prejudices that trans people face.

The truth will set you FREE!

You will find happiness when you realize that only you can pursue and strive for accomplishment. Then abject horror when you realize all the marxist want to take it from you.

I love that being red-pilled is literally an expression that everyone knows but leftists will deny give the number of blue pills they have to continue to take

Gallup and pew surveys show that the ignorant Democrats/Leftists are much less happy. They are miserable about Trump because their media intake is always so negative.

I don't think you can call living in ignorance happiness. It's an illusion. The liberation you get from being able to see through the bullshit narrative is far better than any creature comfort that comes from blinding doing as you're told.

And then you realize that the modern liberal agenda offers no meaning or value to your life. Their art sucks, their music/movies suck, their comedians aren't funny. Waking up to this is one of the best feelings you can have.

Definitely harder to find things that make you happy when you know what dangers are all around you. I suppose it's the price we pay for years of complacency from ourselves and previous generations.

My red pill was the Duke lacrosse team "rape".

Once the truth came out I knew I was absolute lied to by ALL mainstream media.

I never trusted any of them again.

It's interesting there is a Japanese flag because I see them as the most dominant country in the future. One main reason is you can't move there and attempt to change their culture and history. They'll boot you right out.

It is true, when I researched and found out that yes, 9/11 was an inside job and how it was done I sat in silence for about ten minutes letting it all sink in. Since then I have not stopped speaking out and up about govt corruption and crimes.
