I am surprised Americans still watch the news. I have not watched or read any "news" in years. I see them for what they are, and why do I give a fuck what they have to say?

I honestly think half their views are housewives putting it on for background noise.
I feel ya. My old man still buys the paper. He grudgingly admits it's all fakenews but the act of buying the paper and sitting down and reading it is so ingrained in his psyche through 20 thousand repetitions that I can't break him out of it.
The mom in my house has the TV on while she does things around the house, engages in her hobby, and even when she sleeps. You're onto something.
Honestly I'm nervous of subliminal messaging that might play as she sleeps. Like watching Big Bang Theory before she goes to bed and the same channel having Rachel Maddow or HNL or what have you playing as she sleeps. What if her mind is processing it as she sleeps subconsciously? That sounds possible. I'm not crazy am I?
If I'm around I turn it off. Makes me uneasy.
I sleep with white noise myself, just not TV shows or anything with words in it. (If you're reading this communists I am a light sleeper and if you so much as fart I'll skin you faster than a rabbit)
I stopped in 2007. I knew that they were liars when I saw what they did to Ron Paul. He'd have 6,000 supporters at a rally , more than anyone else , and they wouldn't even say his name on the nightly "news"
