I have to wonder if they didn't let illegals vote how it would turn out. The big cities are definately heavily blue, but outside of that it's red as can be.

35
SirWilliam [S] 35 points ago +36 / -1

When they started giving illegals driver's licences, it was like a light switch was thrown on the decline. All the sudden there were 3x the crowds in the mountains, roads that previously had no traffic were gridlocked, etc, etc. I'm guessing that a good 20% of CA's population is illegal, and they all drive and vote now. I think CA would be waaaaay different if they were gone...

California as a red state was peak humanity, change my mind. My dad tells stories of CA in the 70s and 80s, and it sounds like it was the best life on earth could get. I can imagine it was even better before that.

The only reason CA is even somewhat prosperous today is from the 150 years of conservatism and capitalism: the best analogy I have is that the 1990s was spending grandpa's bank account, 2000 they mortgaged grandpa's house, 2010 they sold all other assets. Now they're just pulling the wiring out of the walls for meth money before the place gets foreclosed.

We've got an entire album of photos taken by him showing shenanigans in the National Forest and on fire roads that would get you massive jail time in today's CA, but it was totally ok back then. No gated off places, rangers were out there to be helpful, not bust you for something stupid, and the forest was open and accessible to those who wanted to use it. Public land was yours to use, not just the sierra club's to use. No gun control beyond federal, low taxes, cheap land. Sigh..."progress"

I’m born and raised California girl, old lady pede now. Leaving for Arizona soon.

This was an amazing place to grow up. So much room to explore. Now it’s just one fire after another savaging the state. Our power is out until around 7 a.m.tomorrow. Got the generator running now.

Horrible traffic all over the state on crap roads they rarely repair. It’s homeless heaven too. Everywhere you go homeless trashing our cities. It’s heartbreaking to see what they’ve done to this once beautiful state.

These illegal pieces of shit need to go. I was in SF the other day and heard a group a illegals yelling at a guy with an American flag shirt. They have been emboldened to think they have power and forget they are in America. These liberal hellholes have been infiltrated By foreign enemies and need cleansing. Ejecting illegals needs to to start happening. We must remove Roberts and get two more patriots on the SC to deal with this mess.

12
freefolk 12 points ago +12 / -0

Once illegals flooded in,California seceded from the Union to become their own country. Handing out driver licenses is a formality.

I know. Even back in the '90s, Big Bear was generally white. It didn't matter what time of the year you went up there. Not it seems like it's majority Hispanic with some Asian as well, and I don't mean American-born Hispanic.

I'm in the middle of TDS territory (LA) and honestly I'm pretty shocked how many based opinions I've been hearing the past few months. All my artist/musician/influencer/misc other useless cultural parasite friends are still hardcore anti-Trump, but "regular" people are getting redpilled left and right. They see that BLM is full of shit, they see that the lockdowns are unnecessary, and they see that the state is willing to completely fuck them over for a slim chance at making Trump look bad. A lot of people here are also in that Tim Pool place, where they know in their heart that their eyes aren't lying to them but they just need a minute to take a deep breath and admit they're voting for Trump despite thinking he's a dick. We haven't won the culture war yet, but, by god, we are winning, even in the places you'd think we have no chance.

pqsusan 22 points ago +22 / -0

Native Californian here. I'm a lifelong Republican who has voted straight Republican for over 40 years. Once upon a time, my home state was as red and free as South Dakota. Over my lifetime, I've watched as the Democrats used methodical, systemic voter fraud and the deeply liberal 9th circuit to slowly but surely gain power until they made themselves completely immune to any opposition. There are millions of us here trapped deep behind enemy lines, abandoned by the spineless state GOP, and powerless against the Democrat machine who nullify our votes without even breaking a sweat. But, the insanity that 2020 and Gruesome have brought to this state is actually turning moderate Democrats against their own machine. They are beginning to awaken from their long political slumber, and I'm cautiously optimistic that California might finally be in play.

17
irspow 17 points ago +17 / -0

There are a lot of people in California both republican and democrat. However, those millions of republicans have zero chance in changing the presidential bias of the State. Hillary beat Trump, 8,753,788 to 4,483,810. The number of republican votes would need to double to even make the race close in California. 😦

That’s one way to look at it. It’s also a great argument for why the electoral college is so necessary. Without it virtually all of America would be slaves to the whims of a few States.

10
ChickNorris 10 points ago +10 / -0

pretty much, yep. Cali and NYC. That's the popular vote. Which is why we have the electoral college.

11
TheUpsetter 11 points ago +11 / -0

I have no illusions about Trump winning California, but would like point out that many republicans in this state either believed the MSM narrative around Trump, were shamed into not supporting him, or fell into the Romney/Ryan establishment thinking on less than enthusiastic support for him. 4 years later, the results speak for themselves, and I do believe Trump’s support in CA will grow significantly, while Biden’s is no where near as enthusiastic as Hillary’s.

My personal experience from 2016, as someone who never liked Trump as a personality, was that I didn’t think that he actually believed what he was saying, would fold under presser (like Arnie), and would not govern as a conservative. I was very wrong.

7
dandylionsummer 7 points ago +7 / -0

We will never know. We get flooded with undocumented ballots sent to everyone breathing, and their pets. No ID’s, they can print as many as they need. We will never know how many republicans voted and had their ballots tossed, goodness knows my mail carrier knows I’m a Trump supporter, I get enough campaign mail.

Terribly sad. Democrats are cancer, California needs to be broken up to free the conservatives trapped between the urban shitholes of SoCal and NorCal.

7
LeftistsAreInsane 7 points ago +7 / -0

Don't break it up. Trust me, it'll backfire. There are large cities that will potentially give a new Northern California democrat senators, which means democrats gain two additional seats. And the democrats will continue to use voter fraud to achieve that.

6
irspow 6 points ago +7 / -1

Sadly that would require a Constitutional Amendment which is pretty much impossible given the polarity of modern politics. No new States can be created by breaking apart or combining territory already belonging to existing States.

California is in the same situation as other states

Cities/larger population areas vs, everyone else

Also, ask outright if you meet people who have left California in the last 10 years

Lots of conservatives

The conservatives who leave keep their heads down, and vote hard right.

I think the Fck Cali attitude is more like fck hollyweird and Cali poitics than it is the people. Though there are some truly messed up folks over there I don't think those are the ones the folks on .win do not care for.

Also, you don't need a miracle. Cali needs to start burning dry under brush to keep wildfires from burning out of control. It's all very simple, we do it in my state every spring and never have wildfires.

-3
TrumpTrain425 -3 points ago +3 / -6

No. I hate everyday californians with a passion. I can easily pick them out of a crowd. It's a double edged sword. I'M never going to california and the based calipedes aren't the ones fleeing. Overpriced trendy versions of camping company clothing(patagonia/NF/OR) that has clearly never been outside of a city, yoga pants etc. Dress like college kids into their 40s.

The classic coastal elitism. Very entitled/karenesque. Want everyone to bend over backwards to appease them because they dained to spend 11 bucks on burgers. Hard to convey over text but wanting the moon and stars and offering little in return seems to be a common trait amongst coastal folks.

You can almost see my house in that map.

This is what the Sierra Club causes with its stupid bullshit. As usual, retarded virtue signalers fuck it up for the rest of society.

2
SirWilliam [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

This exactly. We didn't wildland fires more than a few thousand acres before they killed the thriving timber industry in the Sierras. Look at a map of historical fires, and you'll see that the fires in the 1960s and before are much smaller. My dad worked at camp sierra for many years and told stories of being able to walk through the forest of the sierras without encountering underbrush that would make walking in any direction difficult. If you went up to that same area before this fire, that was far from the reality today. You can't walk without climbing over downed trees and through thickets of manzanita, gooseberries and other garbage understory, much of it dead...Tree mortality was the final nail that turned mismanagement into this deadly rager of a fire.

And, yes, quit ragging on CaliPedes. There are 40 million people in the state, and a whole fuck ton of us are based who vote red every election. What people don't seem to understand is Democrats have an iron grip on this state with election and voter fraud. They have near-perfected it, honestly.

I'm in central California. I suspect arson. There was another fire yesterday. These fires are strange.

3
SirWilliam [S] 3 points ago +3 / -0

I'm thinking the same. It started a couple hundred yards from camp sierra in a canyon. Very fishy, if it was arson, I hope that bastard rots.

3
Neonlightdistrict 3 points ago +3 / -0

I saw an episode of forensic files where they caught an arsonist who had been setting fires for 50 years. He was an ex firefighter and once they caught him, if I recall correctly, the number of forest fires in LA county dropped from 50 a year or so, to 1 or 2.

Every time they attempt to manage the forests the environmental idiots sue to stop it. This is why we’re in this mess.

I have a natural area across from my home. The only way we could get them to mow it was because a young mountain lion was spotted there. The brush was over 6 feet high! My hubby and a few neighbors cleared out some other areas the city refused to.

There’s always some granola crunching asshole standing in the way. Our moron governor is finally going to spend some money cleaning up our forests.....or what’s left of them. 20 bucks says he will get sued ten ways to Sunday to put a stop to it.

1
SirWilliam [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

They do, but some places that are highly mismanaged are so fuel loaded with dead trees and brush that controlled burning is impossible. I wish I could post up some photos in the comments of what this exact area looked like just one month ago. Dead trees everywhere, some fallen, most still standing with needles in place. Imagine millions of dry christmas trees 100+ feet tall. That's what it looked like. The forest was 2-5x thicker than is healthy, and cutting standing trees was and still is illegal. It's terrible and sad. Democrat mismanagement.

-1
TrumpTrain425 -1 points ago +3 / -4

Blame the rats fleeing a burning building that have unequivocally ruined massive chunks of WA/OR/CO/TX.

It's hard to see californians in a good light when I can't think of a single positive interaction with one. Rife with coastal elitism, socialism and pure unadultered ignorance everywhere you look. Garbage people. But yeah, I'm sure it's ten times more frustrating for the elusive based californian being so fundamentally miscategorized.

3
SirWilliam [S] 3 points ago +4 / -1

Have you met any Central CA folks who fit that bill? Probably not, because they 1.) left and blended into your society and hate CA politics more than you do or 2.) are still here fighting for the beautiful state they used to know.

-2
TrumpTrain425 -2 points ago +2 / -4

See above.
