So the comic is basically saying libertarians and fascists are allying against the the commies and the wealthy.
It's ironic that the authoritarian is taking sides with the libertarian... but plenty of the academic study into the matter does find that libertarianism necessitates despots.

Well, the rattlesnake dates back to the American revolution. There was another flag of the snake in segments with the emblem "Join or die."
The usual emblem is "Don't tread on me" which is a warning -- leave me alone, don't get bit. Which is why it was particularly obnoxious to see the BLM make a flag that showed their stupid fist strangling the snake saying "we will tread."
But I don't know what the yellow means. What do you think?

I was associating the Gasden flag with more of American independent spirit than Libertarian. But Fascist? That's weird.

It's a flag that goes back to the early days of the revolution. It really encapsulates the message of libertarians in a nice little meme.
