California: The state that can't figure out how to desalinate water and/or generate power at the same time or manage forest or......wait, this list would probably be shorter with the things they could actually do right, which is fucking nothing. They make EVERYTHING they touch fucking worse.

Then beg for federal bailouts and spend the money on healthcare and legal aid for illegal immigrants instead.

They are like literally crackhead family members. "C'mon, bro. I just need $20, I got to put gas in my car."

"You don't even have a car!"

"I mean, I need bus fare, bro. C'mon, man. I'll pay you back."

California does freeway maintenance right. We might have traffic up the ass, but the freeways themselves are in great condition.

Maybe because we spend so much time on them.

They were cattle trails for a while then CA low IQ voters decided the roads needed fixing and passed that gas tax proposition. So now the state and CALTRANS actually have to prove their using (some??) of that money to fix roads.

I agree we pay out the wazoo in gas taxes but at least we get something out of that compared to the billions wasted paying people not to work and trying to force an education on future gang members and criminals.

They make EVERYTHING they touch fucking worse.

Do you know why? California politicians are communists, that’s why.

I'm an engineer and I grew up in a family of engineers and my dad is a surveyor. I really don't think southern california needs desalination plants. (Which actually do mess with the local marine environment). There is enough water up north. We just need a smarter infrastructure and more reservoirs. As well as smarter agriculture.

That would also create alot of jobs and solve the water issues.
