Can I just ask a stupid question? Was there something wrong with the other vaccine? My mom was telling me the other day that they all had to get it as there was a huge worldwide outbreak or some such. This would have been in the 40s or 50s.It worked!

^^^^THIS^^^^

In 1952, Jonas Salk tested his polio vaccine on three sons, his wife, and himself. Children at several local Pittsburg institutions were also given the vaccine.

If Bill Gates wants to promote vaccines, he, his wife, and children need to receive it first. Maybe a year prior to trying it out on the rest of us.

Absolutely. Dr. Salk decided to do virus research instead of treating patients.

My Mother said when the the polio vaccine was released, people lined up for blocks to get it.

Salk did not patent his vaccine because he could not.

the lawyers from the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis had looked into patenting the Salk Vaccine and concluded that it could not be patented because of prior art – that it would not be considered a patentable invention by standards of the day.

Salk did some very questionable things developing this vaccine and it had many issues.

In 1976, Salk even testified that the live-virus vaccine (used almost exclusively in the U.S. from the early 1960s to 2000) was the “principal if not sole cause” of all reported cases of polio in the U.S. since the early 1960s. [Washington Post, September 24, 1976.]

In 1992, the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) published an admission that the live-virus vaccine had become the dominant cause of polio in the United States.

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/1554844/

From 1923 to 1953, before the Salk killed-virus vaccine was introduced, the polio death rate in the United States and England had already declined on its own by 47% and 55% respectively. Statistics show a similar decline in other European countries as well. [Alderson, M. International Mortality Statistics (Washington, DC: Facts on File, 1981):177-8]

I have a relative who had poli (he's 90) one leg is significantly larger than the other. He's better off than FDR... but I would not want to live with the effects. If given the choice, I would roll the dice on the polio vaccine.

The inactive variant which wouldn't cause Polio, was done by needle. The new version is oral. Easier and cheaper to line people up and drop a thing in their mouth than get new needles. They thought they could speed up the process and cut costs by using an active variant.

This is why the old saying "Do it right or do it twice" exists.

Yeah, I'll take the needle thanks.

I'm 71 ; born 1949 . In 1955 ,as a first grader , we lined up at school for a sugar cube impregnated with Dr. Jonas Salk's polio vaccine . I remember distinctly my mother taking me to the school , so it must have been after regular school hours or on Saturday . The Iron Lung was the big thing in the news , so every parent wanted the vaccine for their child . Not exactly a scare tactic, but back then , the news media was honest and objective .

Forgotmyoldpassword 7 points ago +7 / -0

Was it really honest? Or was there no internet and millions of independent journalists to call out fake news?

Benjamin 7 points ago +7 / -0

Fucking bingo. When I first got red pilled in 2016, I came to this same conclusion. If not for some random patriots on the internet, I never would have been turned on to the truth.

Salk invented it, tested it on himself, and then gave it away to the world FOR FREE.

Why on earth would some imbecile think a free, proven, and 100% effective cure would be something that needed to be improved upon?

Bill Gates is evil.

4
Food4thought 4 points ago +4 / -0

My take on Bill Gates is he is highly analytical. He doesn't see people, he sees the numbers... It's all 1's and 0's in his world. I'm not sure evil is the right word, but I can see why a lot of people don't like him.

The way he sees it, disease is a global problem that requires a commitment from the entirety of humanity.

1
BuckyRancher 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yes , well that's a nice way to look at it But if you alone feel you can decide on population control and Reinfect people with polio because you have a new in-necessary vaccine, you are evil.

Food4thought 1 point ago +1 / -0

I believe Gates' thinking lines up with the original communist in that regard - He's thinking of all the future lives that will be saved, and not the concerned with the cost of what it takes to get there. I'm guessing he see's it as the trolley dilemma for him. How the future plays out will dictate how we see him and his legacy.

2
BuckyRancher 2 points ago +2 / -0

Ok good points but he's still evil. And pushes drugs and ideas that harm real people. No one person should have that power no matter how wealthy they are.

Food4thought 1 point ago +1 / -0

No one person should have that power no matter how wealthy they are.

Lol, and what about Donald Trump? A billion that runs for POTUS and uses his clout to move into a lane dominated by career politicians? My two cents is that Americans are letting it happen. We need to do better before we can expect our leaders(or eccentric philanthropist) to be better.

Enough I believe Gates uses his power to dominate poor people in Africa. Even the UN PUBLISHED THAT HIS POLIO VACCINE infected people with polio. A virus that hasn't existed for 40 years. If you are comparing that to Trump your on the wrong forum friend

Food4thought 1 point ago +1 / -0

I like Trump, and I'm not a fan of Bill Gates and what he's doing... but the sum of man will only be available for account in the books of history. That's all.

Article just states this stuff as a fact, but doesn't actually list any proof or sources....

Got any actual sources for this? because it doesn't do much good to try to argue with people when you link them to some random ass website with a name like that which then gives absolutely no proof at all for it's claims.

The one article that it does link to doesn't help very much it literally says the same exact shit with not one single source....

There was a lot of controversy about the Gates vaccination program in India. There were reports of people contracting diseases and deaths after the vaccine.

This is an actual India parliament report http://164.100.47.5/newcommittee/reports/EnglishCommittees/Committee%20on%20Health%20and%20Family%20Welfare/72.pdf

During March, 2010 the entire world was shocked by the media reports about the deaths of some female children and adolescents in Khammam district of Andhra Pradesh after being administered Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) vaccines. The vaccination trials were carried out by an American agency viz. Programme for Appropriate Technology in Health (PATH). The project was reportedly funded by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, an American charity.

There was a parliament level inquiry, however everything seems to have been hushed up after a point. If I have to take a wild guess, lots of money would have changed hands to bury this.

Trampus 8 points ago +9 / -1

What was wrong with the old vaccine? Why change it? People took it safely for decades

Did Jonas Salk not do a good enough job or something the first time?

Is anyone really surprised a strange billionaire sociopath is experimenting his way to more profit on African children by the million? Literally one of the liberal white messiahs is damaging or outright killing black children in black countries and not a peep from anyone on “their side”. You’d think BurnLootMurder would be all over it, or Amnesty, or Hollywood celebs... and yet, no one.

Rushed Vaccine intended to kill all the people in Africa. He should have taken his time and perfected it, so it actually killed everyone.

America has plenty of underemployed lawyers - good ones who haven't yet gotten into their stride and waste away in other fields, everything from baristas to office clerks to mid-level managers. It's time to put them to work: Set up satellite courts with American laws applying, in all these places where Gates has ruined lives, like in India and Africa.

Most of those places the people are too poor to travel to the America to pursue claims, and it would be a nightmare to get visas to stay here for their cases.

With little effort, Gates and all his wealthy plutocrat buddies could be sued into poverty.
