Love that dad dumped him too. Sometimes life knocks you down. But as little man demonstrated, you just get back up and keep fighting.

Although he did have a little 1000 yard stare moment at the end. Walk it off little man.

My father used to say that you can't truly appreciate success without first experiencing failure

Kid already walks like he’s been riding for 30 years, my kind of dad!

All of us who grew up working with and learning from our parents are blessed.

Amen to that. When my son was three years old I re-did the kitchen and had him hold a flashlight while I worked the basin wrench. I heard my wife say to her father that I couldn't come to the phone because I was underneath the sink teaching my son how to curse. If you've ever used a basin wrench, you know what I'm talking about.

Love it, had my son in sheep/mutton busting since 3.

He got stepped on once or twice, but he's better for it.

I wasn't raised in a country setting. Me and my brother grew up around boats, and our dad made sure we were competent with a sink-or-swim approach.

My mom told us the story of being at the grocery store waiting for a major thunderstorm to clear through before going to her car. She was chatting with a neighbor who was worried sick about her son who might be driving in the storm, and asked my mom if she knew where we were.

Mom told the women she was thankful me and my brother were out sailing on a small boat instead of on the road. That's parenting.

Lol, familiar. Had a boat in key largo before Hurricane Andrew hit. We thought it would nail the Keys. Older brother and I drove it to Miami, day of land strike. I think he was 17, I was 14.

Fun times, Loran C, with a Miami Vice brick phone.

We lived.

Loran C and a brick phone? LOL! What saved you guys was the nut-sack toxic masculinity instilled in you by your parents. Loran C. I'm dying here.

Yeah didn't work inland very well.

It was complicated, at some point we did an ocean route because we were told no Bridges would raise.

But yeah we had a ton of toxic masculinity in us.

Sad part was the boat died. We brought it into the heart of the hit. Got speared by a pilling. Loved that boat.

If you are not spending time with your kids, teaching them right and wrong. Showing them dangerous and exciting things and letting them learn about them, you know, being a parent..

Then you should never have recreated in the first place. Be a parent. This goes for both genders. An iPad is not an acceptable replacement for playtime.
