Here's the scary part. This is part of one of many long plans. We're in the middle of one of hundreds of scenarios. Analysts are constantly preparing scenarios and different outcomes and planning for whatever comes out. We can't be reacting to their bullshit, we need to be pro-active.
I've thought about this before, and I'm gonna share something here.
Remember when people scoffed at the idea that the government was recording every single phone call/text message/digital communication that every single person in the country was making? People said it wasn't even possible. The amount of storage is just not possible, etc. But it turns out, it really was happening.
Now think about data collection and computing. In the future (if not already happening, but not super precise yet), data will be the most valuable thing in the world. The more data you have, the better you will be able to simulate everything, and eventually the technology will be so good that it's basically magic, or the ability to predict the future. They will run simulations with astounding accuracy.
They are likely doing this already to some degree, and this is somewhat true already. But in the future, those who control the data will be rulers of the world. Once the technology is good enough, it could be used to do virtually anything. To manipulate people perfectly, and to accomplish any goal you wanted. To stay in power, to safeguard your ability to harvest data and make sure no competitors could do so. You could do literally anything.
To me it seems like this future is a certainty, if it's not already happening.
