It might also be that after a life-altering experience like this, you just want to spend less time dealing with hair, make-up, etc. Also, sometimes after chemo a woman's hair can get funky when it grows back in. The texture and thickness can change.
TDS can sometimes cause hair, especially in women, to be cut short like this.
