Stop worrying. Kyle will be fine. There are real RKBA organizations making sure he gets connected with qualified attorneys. Everybody in the legal world knows what Wood and Pierce are about. It's not some big secret that we have special knowledge of. They will have nothing to do with Kyle's criminal defense, no matter how many twitter readers they manage to convince that they're "leading the team" of attorneys who will defend him.

Can you elaborate regarding the concerns about Wood and Pierce?

They're full of shit. They're not criminal defense attorneys. They've been begging for donations to their new "foundation" -- implying it's "for Kyle" even though the website makes no mention of Kyle -- and claiming to have "assembled a legal team for Kyle" since before they even had contact information for Kyle's family.

https://twitter.com/LLinWood/status/1298983740345999360 My colleague at #FightBack Foundation John Pierce has assembled legal team to defend Kyle Rittenhouse. They need to be retained by Rittenhouse family so we need family contact info. They are prepared to fly out tonight. Please DM contact info to me or John at @CaliKidJMP

Some other info, reposting a comment I made on a thread last week:

They are trying to give the impression that they are representing Kyle in his criminal case (the only case he has right now). They are absolutely not. That's why the public defender who is currently representing Kyle told the court yesterday (the court that employs her and appointed her to this case) that Kyle needed to postpone the extradition hearing for 30 days to give him time to hire a private attorney. Does that sound to you like he has already engaged John Pierce, who claims he has "assembled a team of top lawyers" including Lin Wood to handle "the case"?

Look at Pierce's website. No other attorneys listed, but endless rambling about how they've got the best attorneys from the top law schools who trained at the biggest firms. There used to be at least a few other attorneys there:

Law firm representing Rudy Giuliani beset by sordid allegations, partner exodus The firm, Pierce Bainbridge Beck Price & Hecht, has faced an exodus of lawyers as the litigation stretches on, including two who were defending Giuliani amid a criminal probe launched by New York federal prosecutors. Those partners, Eric Creizman and Melissa Madrigal, spent their last day at Pierce Bainbridge on Friday and are set to join the New York office of a different firm, Armstrong Teasdale, later this month, the lawyers confirmed to NBC News. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/ncna1127906

Pierce is absolutely 100% unqualified to handle any violent crime defense. Look at the "Practice Areas" page on the site https://piercebainbridge.com/practice-areas/ It claims the firm has expertise in a long laundry list of practice areas, but only one that has anything to do with criminal defense, and the description of that practice area (all the way at the bottom of the page) explicitly excludes the kind of charges Kyle is facing.

WHITE COLLAR CRIMINAL DEFENSE

Non-violent Criminal Activity in the Commercial or Business Realm

But he claims he has "gathered" or "assembled" some great team of "top lawyers" who are qualified. Why the hell would any highly qualified violent criminal defense and constitutional attorneys want to be "gathered" and "led" by this sketchy attorney who has absolutely no qualifications in this area?

The reason Wood and Pierce set up the fund (which they had already announced at the same time they were begging on Twitter for somebody to DM them contact information for the Rittenhouse family) is to publicize themselves, and to try to amass a big pile of other people's money that they can use to try to guilt trip the family into giving them a piece of some other pie, e.g. defamation cases that may arise. If they don't get it, well, not to worry, a close look at the fundraising website shows no mention of Kyle and lots of rambling about all the unrelated things the "foundation" can spend donations on. Some people who have donated have gotten receipts saying the donations was "for Kyle Rittenhouse", but it doesn't specify criminal defense. If these attorneys end up representing Kyle for a defamation case, they'll be very well-compensated with a percentage of any settlement or judgement they win. And normally they'd have to pay expenses out of their percentage, but with this big fund "for Kyle", they can have other people pay all the expenses, because the expenses were for the defamation case "for Kyle".

These attorneys may not be outright fraudsters like Avenatti, but they are sleazy as hell.

Pierce and Wood are not representing Kyle in his criminal defense, and are certainly not "leading a team" of criminal defense attorneys who are representing him. They just make a lot of self-aggrandizing noise. Kyle doesn't have a criminal defense attorney yet. That's why his Illinois public defender told the court which employs her and appointed her to the case, that Kyle needed a 30 day delay of his extradition hearing, to give him time to hire a private attorney.

Barnes is right that these are lousy, scammy attorneys, but they pose no risk at all to Kyle's criminal case. Don't worry.

Ah I was wondering about that since Lin Wood was in Nick Sandmann's defamation case which would make him a civil attorney

Barnes is a moron...
