It is my understanding that he is being held in IL on a fugitive from justice warrant for the charges in WI and is currently pending an extradition hearing. Not sure about the law in IL but typically the only issues in fugitive cases are sufficiency of the warrant and identity of the wanted person. He will eventually lose the extradition case and be sent to WI to face charges. Mr. Wood is probably using the extradition hearing to garner facts and testimony to use later in WI. Although the court can allow bail in an extradition hearing, they typically won't in serious cases.
