Think about the people who have refrigerated medications or are on some sort of life support device at home. We have a freezer full of breast milk that my wife pumped for when she's at work.
I don't have a big stash right now but I normally have thousands of dollars worth of insulin in my fridge... And I've had to move it to another house when our power was out for a few days after a storm. It's a pain.
our utility company told us that we've been warned & we're on our own to find electricity for our own homes 'cause they aren't going to help. This is how the utility pays us back for suing them for billions for not trimming the trees back from the powerlines like they agreed to do. It's payback.
Yeah the triple digits are not fun, where I live we are averaging 110 to 112 and it doesn't peak until about 5:30 at night. It also doesn't cool down until about 5:30 in the morning at which point the low has been around 83 to 85 π. We haven't had our power forcibly shut down yet. π€π»
Lost over $1,500 in food last year during our 5 day blackout. Now we have a generator hard wired into the house. It runs the inside fridge and the garage freezer.
We have high winds coming from the east and blowing hot, dry air and smoke from inland fires here. There were reports of arcing power lines as well, so most likely either the wind took out a line or they shut it down as a precaution until they could check the lines. It's back on now after being out for about four hours.
The air quality is terrible with all the smoke, but at least it actually makes sense to wear a mask today!

This is the real danger right here, people needing electric medical devices, and/or temperature controlled meds.

Does Soylent Green even need to be refrigerated?
kek
You can buy dry ice and put it in there, but you need to be careful when retrieving it.
Gonna be a bit short supplied when whole counties are rushing out to buy it
In Soviet Kalifornia, ice dries you!
Depends how the person votes. If they support biden then dip your hands in water and grab handfuls of that dry ice.
Last year they had lines of cars waiting to buy dry ice. I think the wait was around 3 hours. Only one place around here sells it to the public!
Go to a Smart & Final. They sell it there. Go as soon as possible if they're cutting power in your area.
Thanks good to know. We now have a generator running. Great little Honda......spewing gas fumes all over bwahahaha! Whoops!
Fortunately, I stocked up on dry ice after the last time. Got a whole shelf full of it right here in my hall closet...

My generator is running right now here in Oregon. Power went out a few hours ago.
BS reasons like Cali or something else?

Would you mind just making sure itβs not a dude in an all black ninja looking costume caught in the power lines frying alive. Hope.
