I believe we were talking about 1918 German revolution that created the Wiemar Republic..... (Ukraine famine was later) The first socialist - even Lenin can be afforded some restraint in our condemnation for the fact that there was no historical precedent for what they were trying. That certainly doesn't absolve them of being monsters, but there was a lot of big changes going on during that time in the way governments operated.
