Hes not a felon in possession. He was charged with a felony..never convicted of a felony. Hes only been guilty convicted of minor offenses. Theres a difference between charged with felony and being convicted. You always have to look at the final case status.
The sources I read at the time, said he was actually a felon. Subsequent checking now, shows it's unclear.
One could do more digging - court records in the case (deferred adjudication, probation, what have you); or in a more practical sense, employment (it's kind of difficult to get a W-2 from a regular corporation during incarceration -- but OTOH, with COVID and all a lot of people don't have jobs right now, so inconclusive).

Job status has nothing to do with felony or not felony The single, sole source of the information..is the court case disposition. Guilty or ot guilty..convicted of felony charge or something else.
If you arent validating it via the court record..any other data source is spurious.

Ummm, if the court records are (how convenient!) missing, muddled, or unclear, then a sudden six-year-hole in a resume might indicate imprisonment.
Also depends on how long ago; some states allow expungement, depends on all kinds of things.

I lterally just told you that court records are public. All of the court records show no felony convictions. The court records very clearly show NO felony convictions.

I have a degree in law from an ABA approved legal program and worked as a clerk in federal court in Los Angeles, as well as in Public Law dept at Rutan & Tucker. Intellectual law dept at Squire Sanders and Dempsey and also at a multiple other smaller law firms.
Although criminal law is not my forte, I am able to tell the difference between someone whose court records show that they have NO FELONY CONVICTIONS and the fact that employment records don't supercede ACTUAL COURT RECORDS.

BUT...you COULD rationally ask....he just pled guilty in 1/2017 to a charge of being drunk with a firearm, which is a misdemeanor....and in 6/2020 he was guilty of obstructing an officer.....was he on probation for either of those charges?
If so...was he restricted from having or using a firearm?

I'm sure that there are records that he owns/possessed an actual firearm and that the type he owned was the same or reasonably demonstrated to be the same firearm in the photo.
