I got in trouble in the 4th grade for arguing that the fairness doctrine doesn't really sound fair and that it didn't make sense. Why would "fairness" be in the name when it's not fair?
My argument was that it is impossible to give "each side" the same amount of time on radio or television because there can be an infinite amount of sides.
The teacher's argument is that only the R and D really applies here. So my counter argument was well then it's not fair to everyone.
Teacher tried to explain this to my mom but she didn't understand what this was about and just punished me.
