We need Urban Secession!

Make all major urban areas (including their Democrat suburbs) separate states. Buffalo (upstate NY), Illinois, Florida, Washington, Oregon, PA, etc would then be solid Republican states!

Encourage "red state" Dems to move to "blue" cities. Then Dems would never win Federal elections again, and be forced to practice their communism on local level, without taxing capitalism. All brains, capital, and businesses will move out.

Then build a wall around them and not bail them out until they reform!

So will that mean that those newly-formed Urban "states" will also be given two U.S. Senators each? If so, count me out on that idea.

Nah. They get treated like indian reservations. They get their tribal sovereignty and nobody else cares.

That sounds fine to me then. We can even throw a few casinos toward each new Urban state. Then forget about each of them.

In most cases (see this data table) they are blue states now.

California, New York, Illinois, Virginia, Washington, and Oregon are currently all Dem: 2 Dem Senators, and all electoral votes go to Clinton or Biden. Let's say we split their Metro areas each into a new state (one new state per existing state, even if non-contiguous) - we gain 2 Rep Senators per state, and flip about 45% of their electoral votes!

Texas is the only "red state" that loses metro areas on that map. That's against our interests in the short term, but a good tactical compromise. That would keep Texas solid red forever - even with long-term changes in demographics...

Most importantly, you'll now have a clear contrast in governnace, like with North vs South Korea, or East vs West Germany, but with more freedom of movement. Brains and capital will move to Republican areas, which will have the competitive advantage, and the Dems will run out of competent people to tax. That will change a lot of minds.

I appreciate your very detailed description. I really do, but the career Dem politicians like Pelosi, Schumer and Hoyer are too experienced to know that your plan (although sounding very equitable and fair to me) will never be embraced by the Donkey Party. By accepting uour plan, the Dems would be relinquishing way too much Congressional power.

Who says they have to "accept my plan"?

This country was founded on secession - without King George's consent!

Vermont used to be a part of NY State. Kentucky & West Virginia used to be a part of Virginia. Etc.

If Republicans have power at the Federal level (including the Supreme Court), and the "red" counties of Illinois, NY, etc vote to secede from the "blue" counties, there's a chance of that actually happening. As Trump is now hinting, there are things that the Federal government can do to put pressure on local governments - even more-so if we were to win big in 2020...

And plenty of leftists will vote for it too, so they could move their urban shithole further left...

Believe me, I am okay with secession. It'll make the red part of our country that much better. Let a city like Portland burn itself to the ground. That works for me.

This map is a low-effort conceptual example.

I've made many mistakes, probably more CT counties should be glued to Boston or NYC metros...

I don't agree with Florida though. That blue along the upper East coast ? No way that goes blue. At least not until 2050, if ever.

Not to say it wasn't a good effort. I actually agree with a lot of it.

Trying to be less critical of fellow Trump supporters here. We need to have each others backs and ignore the petty stuff or just let it go.

The map is not pixel-accurate. Just the concept - Democrat dominated areas secede / get kicked out and form separate states. But a lot of Dems moving from red areas to blue will likely choose Florida, so its current blue spots would grow a bit...

California dipsticks are always on about secession, but they know most of the red and purple counties would repatriate the very next day! You'd have LA and San Fran floating out in there by themselves!

And all the businesses and people with 3-digit IQs (not brainwashed by socialism) would leave as fast as they can...

This is just a conceptual illustration, not accurate in detail!

Made via color substitution based on this urbanization level map:

With very minor manual touch-ups (Vermont, Atlantic City, etc). Keeping urban areas in current solid "red states" (ex Atlanta, Phoenix), which might be wishful thinking. Guess I just forgot a few "blue spots" in close states, like New Mexico. 🙄

No way anyone in west virginia is seceding with these liberal types

WV will definitely remain as it is.

But some leftists will probably want to move from there to the nearby "blue dots": Washington-Baltimore Metro Area, Richmond, Columbus Metro (or whatever they'll rename it to), etc...
