This was my first thought too. Biden wants to increase importation of "refugees" by 700%.

SEVEN HUNDRED PERCENT.

They'll be swarming over every neighborhood in America.

"Das Kapital" should be required reading in high schools. I always made it required reading; I required that my own children read it and be ready to discuss it with me. My eldest child (who was a very good research paper writer) wrote a paper on it during junior year high school...it was a magnificent paper....better than I've seen from most college age students: "Fatally Flawed: Marx's Answer to Capitalism in 'Das Kapital'. I kept a copy of it and use it to challenge my college students to do better.

"I pledge allegiance

To Black Lives Matter

In the United States of America

And to the Public

Of Which We Are

No Nation

(Silent Pause)

With Universal Basic Income

And Corona Masks for All"

So are we finally going to start talking about demographics or is that still verboten?

Biden can't even imagine gas after a bean dinner.

His handlers can imagine it.

Hillary's America would have left us pieced out between Russia and China like GEOTUS said.

My new development isn't even prodominantly English speaking. They live in brand new quarter of a million homes ( bought by their churches & non-profits with our taxes) to house huge family groups & still behave like it's Somalia. Constantly hosting new 'dreamers'. 7-8 kids per house! No English, no school, no social interactions with anyone other than their own culture. No decor nor landscaping; just a giant expensive boxes with dead grass to play soccer in the back. They'll destroy the house then just leave it to another host family to continue the stream of relatives that come to take advantage of our splendor & bring down neighborhood property values.

Important to note the role that some churches are playing in this.

The problem is they are doing it for the money, not for the charitable aspect of it.

Refugee Industrial Complex is real. Once worked in charter schools and saw the director salivating over the price on Somalians heads he would make.

Yep; that's why I constantly harp on not buying the charter school concept at face value.

In my former life, I worked in a city that was experiencing exponential growth in homeless people. The little city had beautiful amenities and people paid big dollars for the homes they purchased there. The city also had dozens of community parks and the bums (yes I said it) invaded them. They came from other cities and towns to take up residence and why?

Well we found out the local churches were feeding them every day. These good people wanted to help them and were doing it with good intentions. They believed they were doing god's work and maybe they were. But these bums got the word out that you can live in nice safe parks and get a nice home-cooked meal every day. The effect is the same as feeding feral cats. Eventually, they'll come from everywhere and they did. The city tried to help these homeless get off the streets but they turned it down (most of them). That city is still trying to deal with the problem.

That's why I rather like the idea of worker's homes (they have to work and abide by some rules to stay) rather than simply homeless shelters/soup kitchens. I realize some of the indigent are not even capable of working, but they do tend to congregate around areas that allow them their lifestyle. How to care for such people and not have them become a hazard for the community is a very good question I cannot answer.

Used to work as a tutor for an area rehab place and also used to work for my church's worker's home. The worker's home did a better job of getting those that were willing and able get back on their feet -- maybe because it sort of pushed them to do so. But, the operative words are "willing and able".

Many homeless are mentally ill.

Food isn’t what they need. Even charitable acts can miss the mark. It’s like giving a new house to someone with cancer. It’s nice, but what they really need is chemo.

People who are inclined to charity - decent people - are sometimes inclined to charity for the wrong reasons.

Like the signs at national parks "DO NOT FEED [animal]" bcuz it's bad. The animals will depend on it.

Seems like this started a long time ago, I know Lutherans are responsible for migrating peoples about.
