Palo Verdes, the largest nuclear power plant in the US, is in the desert outside of Phoenix.

It can be done. Maybe not with the misspending of the Californian Government though.

I like to think it’s a better option than literally building along the most earthquake prone coast in North America. It sounds easier to predict low waste water than a 9.0 coast shattering Big One that we’re due for any day now.
