hahah, yup. That's the commie California way.

but the scam is even bigger because these nuclear plants take decades before they're ever completely gone. Even though the facility is not generating any power, rate payers still need to pay for all the expenses (in the billions) to bring the plant to exit the decommissioning process. So yeah, you might get cheap power when the plant is operating but long-term, nuclear is by far the most expensive form of power, especially using the current designs.

Shit man, just adding two new reactors to an already constructed plant in Georgia is costing almost 30 billion

One big scam especially with Georgia so close to the major shale gas basins. If the state needs power, just burn the cheap natural gas. Boggles my mind why we're even building expensive nuclear these days with all their problems.

Cause they are a hedge against shale gas prices. No guarantee that gas will stay this cheap forever.
