There is a power station at Huntington Beach that they closed down a few years ago too....'dirty coal power' as well as the nuclear plant in San Onofre.

They don't like coal or nuclear....but they buy power on the spot market from....drumroll....coal and nuclear generated power.

Living in AZ...people who are APS customers are getting rate hike...because Arizona power is being diverted to be sold to satisfy california power...leaving less power available for ppl here in AZ....

So getting screwed twice, because AZ power users pay for Palo Verde plant...but then APS sells some of it to CA for high profit...and then raises bill for AZ residents due to less power avail for aZ residents. Self perpetuating power shortage for the sake of profits. :/

I mean, the capitalist way of viewing this is to build a bunch of nuke plants in Arizona, then roll around in the good jobs and money it brings in.

Ah..ok..I'm a little behind...I left CA in 2013, so I'm not too up to date anymore. At least they're running and making power...kudos. Obviously, they need more than a year though.

Crazy, but that plant was scheduled to close in 2020, and after rolling blackouts 2 weeks ago they got a one year extension.
