That was all the out-of-state money poured into Texas, and the election meddling by Mueller/Weissman. They knew they had nothing, but strung out the investigation until after the election.
If Trump had replaced Sessions with Barr the summer before the mid-terms, Barr would have seen what Mueller/Weissman were doing and forced them to wrap it up. Republicans might have even held on to the House.
