This puts even more area of the country off limits to offshore drilling. How the fuck does that help anyone? Leftists aren't going to see this and suddenly vote Trump, and for the rest of us.....how the fuck is this helping us?

Yes, I'm upset, and no, this isn't concern trolling. Look at my posts, look at my numbers. I will crawl across broken glass to vote for Trump, but this is one of a few things he has done I just do not understand or agree with.

Those states have limited offshore deposits and rely on coastal tourism and aquaculture to varying degrees. Opening up their costal waters to drilling risks degrading the beaches and fisheries for limited additional hydrocarbons at a time when oil and natural gas are quite cheap.

Oil and gas are cheap and plentiful now, but what about 5 years from now? 10 years from now?

As far as fishing goes, any fisherman will tell you that the best place to fish offshore is near a rig, as the substructure provides a great place for fish to hang out. I can't argue with the 'despoiling the view' argument, though, and the Deepwater Horizon disaster did make clear that accidents can happen, so there's that. Still, I don't like taking a tool out of the toolbox. What if, 5 years from now, we really NEED whatever oil is there, offshore in those states, and we can't get to it?

  1. Moratoria can be reversed.

  2. If oil gets cheaper, you wind up losing oilfield service companies and rigs shut down anyway, damaging the industry for years and still getting higher prices.

  3. Floridians don’t want oil spilling all over their beaches and fucking up their fisheries; I assume NC folks feel the same about the Outer Banks.

Texas and Louisiana are already in the Mississippi deadzone, so they have less to lose with oil production.

it was a solid move. He can get the environmentalists votes down here. They are rabid about these wells.

Once elected he can reverse it if required. However, we have a good supply from elsewhere in the country.

Then maybe you shouldn't just read headlines but look into the issue to see why that was done before you decide that it's a mistake.

This forces Big oil to focus on Texas/NM and all the areas where we need to get back into shape. I support this 100%. NC is my 2nd home, west Texas is my 1st. NC is also a key swing state. We have vast amounts of areas to tap into. It can always be lifted if necessary but it provides peace of mind to many fishing, tourism and conservation groups.

I'm from Florida. This is not a mistake. I don't want my view to be rigs in the gulf...EVER

🤔 trying to figure out the win for President Trump In this move ? My guess protects the view, the rigs have to be further out ?

This. Why tap this resource when we have so many more.

Could also be protecting the US's ass in the event of another major hurricane that could damage a rig to prevent oil spills from seeping into international waters and being a big headache, like the BP spill was.

Remember, he is going after two types of voters, both of them pretty dumb:

1.) The dumb, white, spoiled princess, suburban housewife.

2.) The equally dumb and moronic 40 year old man-child who sniffs jock straps like it's a fetish (aka the "sports" fan).
