I can see why they resigned, a case that was close has been reopened for political hay, they are being threatened, lied about, beaten, can't fight back, what is the point? Why wait for a bunch of these clowns to sue you? I think they should send a group letter to Trump saying why they resigned and asked the DOJ to come in and review the case and also ask for US Marshalls to take their places in the interim. Might do nothing, might work, who knows unless you try.
