I don't know why some of these guys who have put in the time and can retire at any time stay on the job. In some cases, they may have started their careers late in life and just won't make that much in retirement. But when you have the years on, there's a good chance they won't give up much if any in pay while in retirement.

I worked for a public outreach program in some of the worst parts of this city. I knocked on doors and saw a lot of sad situations with people hiding from neighborhood thugs. I would love to see actual truancy rates audited. So many school aged home on school days.
