I am half Hungarian, half German. My parents were born in the former Soviet Union controlled Hungary and East Germany. I was born in Hungary at the time it ended. We moved back and forth over the course of my life, but I stayed mostly in Germany for the purpose of education and work. The education didn't went far, but it turned out to be redundant anyway.

I am half Hungarian, half German. My parents were born in the former Soviet Union controlled Hungary and East Germany. I was born in Hungary at the time it ended. We moved back and forth over the course of my life, but I stayed mostly in Germany for the purpose of education and work. The education didn't went far, but it turned out to be redundant anyway.

There's a constant stream of death threats to anyone who dares to side with the anti-Zwarte Piet movement. What did our government do however? They decided to side with the protesters and started banning Zwarte Piet from most of the events, this pissed a lot of people off and that was proven with the most recent senate election. A new-comer party who ran their first election won the freaking majority of the votes, and guess what kind of party they are? Forum voor Democratie (The party that won the election) has a big shot of winning the general election as well next year, and that would give us a government of Geert Wilders with Thierry Baudet (The leader of Forum). The big tech saw what was happening because of Zwarte Piet and they even decided to outright ban anything positive about them in the last week.
What I'm trying to say is that deep down a lot of people are just waiting to be activated, and something as stupid like a children's holiday might just be the thing to do it. I always say that things have to get worse in other for them to improve. And in my opinion, things are currently going to the breaking point.
